The partnership was announced on April 15, 2026, but it is not yet a live benefit: the companies have not published the linking steps, conversion rate, redemption values, or full purchase rules.
What the WestJet–Petro-Canada partnership is expected to offer
The announced partnership connects WestJet Rewards with Petro-Points. According to WestJet’s April 15, 2026 announcement, members who link their accounts are expected to be able to:
- Earn their preferred loyalty currency on eligible Petro-Canada fuel, car washes, and convenience-store purchases.
- Receive 20% more Petro-Points on purchases at Petro-Canada. The announcement does not specify the underlying earning formula or exceptions, so this figure is not enough to calculate how many points a particular purchase will earn.
- Redeem WestJet points for eligible Petro-Canada purchases, including fuel, car washes, and convenience-store items.
- Convert points initially in one direction, from Petro-Points to WestJet points.
- Access planned promotions and contests, including chances to win WestJet vacation packages and flights.
The announcement does not provide a conversion rate, a cash value for points, or a complete list of eligible purchases and exclusions.
Can you link accounts, earn or redeem points now?
No. The partnership is announced, but its launch is expected in early 2027. The companies say they will share additional details closer to launch; no exact date or operational instructions have been announced. For now, do not assume a Petro-Canada purchase earns WestJet points under this partnership, or that WestJet points can be used at a Petro-Canada location.

What the 20% bonus does—and does not—tell you
The companies promise 20% more Petro-Points on Petro-Canada purchases as part of the partnership. Without the base earning formula and eligibility details, that percentage cannot be translated into a specific number of points or a dollar-equivalent return for a fill-up, car wash, or store purchase.

- Light Weight Multifunction Passport Holder
Petro-Canada separately describes an existing frequent-fueller benefit: members with Petro-Canada Platinum Status who buy at least 1,000 litres per quarter receive 50% more Petro-Points. That is an existing Petro-Points program feature, not a new WestJet partnership benefit; see Petro-Canada’s program information for its terms.
How the points relate to existing program rules
WestJet distinguishes redeemable points from tier-qualifying spend. Redeemable points can be used toward WestJet travel or merchandise in its Reward eStore; tier-qualifying spend tracks status and has no monetary or redemption value. The partnership announcement does not say that Petro-Canada activity will count toward WestJet status. See WestJet’s earn-points information for existing program context.

Both programs have their own terms. WestJet’s Rewards terms and conditions state that partners may operate independently and set their own earning and redemption terms. Existing Petro-Points terms explain the current program, but do not establish the new partnership’s conversion ratio, redemption value, or purchase eligibility.
Account linking and personal information
Linking loyalty accounts can involve sharing information needed to administer the programs. Petro-Canada’s current Petro-Points terms describe collection or sharing of information such as contact details, account-link status, and transaction information for program administration and tailored communications. Review the updated terms and privacy disclosures from both companies when the partnership launches, before linking accounts.
