The official recruitment listing shows the Constable 2024 entry dated 24 September 2026, and the department homepage reports a final-result announcement posted that day. Check the official recruitment listing for the notice and result rather than relying on an old application link.
What happened after applications closed?
The selection process in the official Gazette comprises a written examination, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and interview. A Recruitment Board notice dated 6 November 2025 scheduled the written examination for 30 November 2025 and said e-admit cards would be available from 10 November 2025. The department later reported a final-result announcement on 24 September 2026.

Who was eligible for the 2024 recruitment?
These requirements describe only the 2024 drive. Anyone considering a later recruitment must check that cycle’s own official notice.
Age and relaxations
Applicants had to be 18 to 30 years old as of 1 January 2024. The notice specified five years of relaxation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates; three years for OBC-A and OBC-B candidates and third-gender persons; and five years for serving Civic Volunteers or Village Police Volunteers in West Bengal Police. Ex-servicemen could receive relaxation equal to completed service years, subject to a maximum age of 40. The notice also provided for certain serving NVF/Home Guards personnel under existing rules.
Education, language, and service
Candidates needed to have passed Madhyamik from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or an equivalent examination. They also needed to speak, read, and write Bengali, subject to a provision under the West Bengal Official Language Act for permanent residents of the Darjeeling and Kalimpong hill subdivisions. Relevant serving NVF/Home Guard and volunteer applicants had to have completed three years of service as of 1 January 2024.
