WBPSC Advertisement No. 07/2024 offered 81 permanent vacancies in the WB Junior Fishery Services Grade-II. Online applications opened on April 22, 2024 and closed on May 13, 2024 at 3 p.m. The window is over, so this page explains the notice, its eligibility rules and pay terms, and what happened after applications closed. It is a record of a completed recruitment stage, not a current opportunity.
Where this recruitment stands today
Applications for this advertisement are no longer being accepted. The Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) moved the process forward in stages after the application deadline:
- August 2024: WBPSC scheduled document verification for shortlisted candidates.
- March 2025: interview dates were scheduled.
- June 11, 2025: a WBPSC announcement recorded a recommendation for appointment against Advertisement No. 07/2024.
The selection process therefore advanced well beyond applications. The published notices show process stages, not a final count of how many of the 81 posts were filled or when individuals joined. If you are looking for the outcome for a specific post, check the official WBPSC site at https://psc.wb.gov.in, which is the Commission’s own website.

Verifying WBPSC notices before acting on them
- Treat the detailed advertisement as the authority on eligibility, age, pay and service bond terms.
- Use WBPSC’s own site for any current notice; secondary job-listing pages can repeat old dates.
- Check the year and advertisement number on every notice, since several WBPSC recruitments run in parallel.
Coverage of this recruitment
The 81-post total and the application dates were also reported contemporaneously by Scroll, which corroborates the headline figures. Scroll’s report is secondary, so for eligibility, pay and procedure, rely on the WBPSC notices described above.

WBPSC Advertisement No. 07/2024 for 81 fishery-service posts closed for applications on May 13, 2024, and the selection process reached a recommendation-for-appointment stage in June 2025.
