Re:

Was the Nintendo Switch 2 Discounted for Cyber Monday 2025?

The reported Cyber Monday 2025 discount was on Walmart’s Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle—not the standalone console—and is not a current price.

Yes—but the reported Walmart deal was for the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle, not a markdown on the standalone console. During Cyber Monday 2025, the bundle was reported at $449, or $50 below its $499 bundle price. The offer was specific to the U.S. retailer and event; it is historical, not a current deal alert.

What was actually discounted?

Tom’s Guide reported on Dec. 1, 2025, that Walmart offered the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle for $449 during Cyber Monday, describing it as $50 off the $499 price. That is a bundle discount: the console was packaged with the game, rather than sold alone at a reduced price. Tom’s Guide’s dated Walmart deal report documents the offer.

Nintendo of America’s 2025 U.S. holiday announcement listed suggested retail prices of $449.99 for the standalone Switch 2 system and $499.99 for the bundle. Suggested retail prices are not a guarantee of every retailer’s price. The difference helps explain why the headline shorthand “Switch 2 discount” can be misleading: the reported Cyber Monday markdown applied to the bundle, not to the standalone system. Nintendo’s holiday announcement provides the official price context.

How much did the bundle save?

The reported $449 Walmart offer was $50 below the $499 bundle price cited in the deal report. Tom’s Guide also noted that the bundle at its regular pricing already represented a $30 saving compared with buying the system and game separately. These are distinct comparisons: the first is the reported Cyber Monday reduction from the bundle price; the second compares the regular bundle with separate purchases. Tom’s Guide’s Cyber Monday coverage gives that additional comparison.

Nintendo Switch 2 System
  • The next evolution of Nintendo Switch
  • One system, three play modes: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld
  • Larger, vivid, 7.9” LCD touch screen with support for HDR and up to 120 fps
  • Dock that supports 4K when connected to a compatible TV*
  • GameChat** lets you voice chat, share your game screen, and connect via video chat as you play

Does “first-ever” mean the console had never been discounted?

No broad claim of that kind is established by the cited coverage. The supported framing is that this was a reported markdown during the first Cyber Monday after the Switch 2 launched. The available reporting does not amount to a complete historical audit of every retailer, configuration, or earlier promotion, so it cannot prove that no Switch 2 product had ever been discounted before.

Is the $449 offer still available?

No current availability is established. The $449 figure describes a Walmart offer reported during Cyber Monday 2025, not a live price. Nintendo’s retail offers page has since shown different bundle promotions, so check the current retailer listing, bundle contents, stock, and checkout total before relying on any advertised price. Nintendo’s retail offers page reflects its current promotions, which can change.
