They say nothing about who earned the most across 49ers Enterprises’ wider businesses. Bamford left Leeds in August 2025, so this is a historical claim, not a description of the current squad.
What do the Leeds wage rankings report?
Two secondary sources identify Bamford as the highest-paid player in their Leeds United rankings, but they cover different seasons and report different amounts:
| Season | Source’s reported figure | Ranking | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023/24 | £40,000 per week | Salary Sport labels Bamford the season’s top earner. | A secondary database estimate, not a club-confirmed salary. Salary Sport’s Leeds United wage list |
| 2024/25 | £70,000 per week, or £3.64 million per year | The Football Group ranks Bamford ahead of the other players in its table. | A secondary estimate, not a verified payroll figure. The Football Group’s Leeds wages ranking |
The amounts differ because they are estimates published for separate seasons by different sources. They should not be treated as a confirmed pay increase or as official figures.
Does this mean Bamford was 49ers Enterprises’ top earner?
No. The evidence is about Leeds United players in particular season-based wage lists. Leeds United announced that the EFL approved 49ers Enterprises’ purchase of the club in July 2023, but that ownership relationship does not establish how Bamford’s estimated pay compared with anyone working across the wider 49ers Enterprises portfolio. So the headline’s “49ers Enterprises top earner” wording is broader than the available evidence supports. The defensible version is that Bamford was reported as Leeds United’s top earner in the cited player rankings for 2023/24 and 2024/25.
Was Bamford still a Leeds player after 2025?
No. Leeds United announced in August 2025 that Bamford had left the club by mutual agreement. The wage rankings above therefore describe historical seasons; they do not show that he remains on Leeds’ payroll or that he currently earns a Leeds salary. Are the figures official or confirmed in club accounts?
Neither wage source is an official Leeds United salary disclosure. The published figures are secondary estimates, and the available evidence does not include a publicly disclosed individual contract or payroll record confirming Bamford’s exact pay.
