Schedule reports say the Boeing 777-200LR was assigned from 1 June to 24 October 2025 and retained for the winter schedule through 28 March 2026. The available records do not establish which A350-1000 route was longest in every 2025 schedule period.
Why Doha–Auckland is not a year-round answer
When Qatar Airways announced the return of direct Doha–Auckland service, it said the daily route would resume on 1 September 2023 using an Airbus A350-1000. That announcement describes the planned aircraft at the time, not the aircraft used in every later schedule. Qatar Airways’ 10 May 2023 announcement.
Aircraft assignments changed for 2025. AeroRoutes reported that the airline scheduled a Boeing 777-200LR on Doha–Auckland from 1 June through 24 October 2025, replacing the A350-1000 assignment. For the Northern winter schedule, 26 October 2025 through 28 March 2026, the 777-200LR was maintained instead of an initially filed A350-1000. What can be said about the longest A350-1000 route
The evidence supports neither calling Doha–Auckland Qatar Airways’ longest A350-1000 route for all of 2025 nor naming another route as the definitive longest for every part of that year. A separate Northern summer schedule report lists A350-1000 assignments on other routes, including Doha–Seoul Incheon, but it does not compare every candidate route by distance. A current route-data page lists Doha–Los Angeles as the longest route in its Qatar Airways A350-1000 set, at about 8,290 miles. It describes distances as airport-to-airport great-circle distances rounded to the nearest ten miles, and cautions that aircraft can be reassigned. How to assess a “longest route” claim
- Fix the period. Check the specific season or schedule dates; an airline can revise aircraft assignments during the year.
- Confirm the aircraft assignment. An announcement or an initially filed schedule is not proof of the aircraft ultimately scheduled for a later period.
- Compare like with like. Use the same measure—airport-to-airport great-circle distance—for all candidate routes. Scheduled flight time is a different measure and should not be substituted for distance.
