Yes. In the Western Australian Government’s FuelWatch ranking of Perth metro regular unleaded petrol (ULP) prices for 2020, Costco Perth Airport had the lowest reported annual average: 95.1 cents per litre. The listing required a Costco membership. For a station open to the general public, the ranking named Liberty Gosnells, at 102.9 cents per litre.
What the 2020 ranking says
The Government of Western Australia published its annual FuelWatch results on 4 January 2021. The figures are average ULP prices across 2020 in the Perth metro ranking, not current prices or a promise about what any motorist paid at the pump. The announcement named Costco Perth Airport the leading retailer overall and marked it as membership-required. Read the government announcement.

All prices and ranking descriptions in the table are from the Government of Western Australia’s 4 January 2021 announcement. The public-access winner is a separate category: Liberty’s average was higher than Costco’s, but the Costco result came with a membership requirement.
Does the result show that a Costco membership would save money?
No. The ranking compares reported average petrol prices; it does not assess membership fees, how much an individual drives, or whether a driver would buy enough fuel at Costco for membership to be worthwhile. It establishes the historical price comparison, not a personal break-even point or a guarantee of savings.

How to check prices now
The 2020 averages should not be used as a guide to today’s pump prices. FuelWatch describes its service as a free way to check today’s and tomorrow’s fuel prices through its website, email service, media reports and telephone service. Tomorrow’s prices are available after 2:30 p.m. In most of Western Australia, retailers notify next-day prices and must hold the notified price from 6 a.m. for 24 hours. The historical ranking’s scope was Perth metro ULP retailers in 2020. FuelWatch’s current background page says its coverage includes the entire state since 1 May 2026; that broader current coverage does not change what the earlier ranking measured. FuelWatch also offers daily average price trends and historic retail price information, which are separate resources from the government’s annual retailer ranking.

Why the 2020 result needs a date
The Commissioner for Consumer Protection said the weekly price cycle continued in 2020, with Mondays and Tuesdays cheapest on average and Wednesdays and Thursdays most expensive. That describes the average pattern in that year; it is not a prediction for a particular station or week.
