Warner Music Brazil and ADA Brazil announced on July 17, 2024 an investment partnership with Sua Música Group, a Brazilian music platform and digital distributor. The stated goals were to strengthen Brazilian regional music, develop artists and songwriters, grow Sua Música’s presence in the Northeast, and widen the reach of regional artists. The announcement did not disclose the investment amount, the valuation, or the ownership percentage. It also does not describe any change to artist fees, contracts, or royalty terms, so an artist’s money questions still depend on the contract they sign with the distributor.
What was announced
The announcement names Warner Music Brazil and ADA Brazil as the investing partners and Sua Música Group as the partner. It describes Sua Música as a Brazilian music platform and digital distributor. Warner’s stated reasoning is that Sua Música’s regional presence, combined with Warner’s national reach and global network, would support artist development and help regional music circulate more widely. These are the companies’ own aims. The announcement does not report results.

The stated aims, in order of emphasis
- Regional presence: expanding Sua Música Group’s operations across Brazil and building a leadership role for its platform in the Northeast.
- Artist and songwriter development: giving regional artists new creative and commercial options.
- Distribution: promoting Sua Música Digital and growing its distribution activity.
- Circulation: extending the reach of regional music beyond its home markets.
Sua Música’s chief executive, Roni Maltz Bin, framed the company’s purpose this way: “Our main mission is to develop, amplify, and connect the music universe.” Leila Oliveira, President of Warner Music Brazil, said that “the combination of Sua Música’s significant presence in regional music with our national reach and global network will amplify the efforts of both companies and offer artists new creative and commercial possibilities and opportunities.” Both statements appear in the company-issued announcement and are the views of the named executives, not an independent assessment.
What Sua Música offers, as described in 2024
The announcement describes Sua Música’s ambition as a “one-stop-shop for music,” covering distribution, publishing, an app, and music production. Sua Música Digital is described as handling digital careers and royalty management. Warner’s announcement says the service managed these functions for more than 1,000 talents as of 2024. The figure is the company’s own and was not presented as an independently audited count. Named examples include Tarcísio do Acordeon, Vitor Fernandes, Thiago Aquino, Heitor Costa, Japãozin, and Evoney Fernandes.

What later company announcements add
Warner Music Brazil’s August 29, 2024 announcement about a new domestic structure recaps the Sua Música investment as a partnership between ADA Brazil, Warner Music Brazil, and Sua Música, focused on regional artists and songwriters. Warner Music Group’s fiscal Q3 2024 earnings presentation also lists the ADA partnership with Sua Música among its partnerships and investments. Together these confirm that Warner publicly reported the deal. Neither adds disclosed terms or measured outcomes.
What it means for a regional artist’s income
For an artist, a distributor’s value is measured in money that reaches the artist after fees, not in its public profile. The 2024 announcement does not state Sua Música’s fee levels, payment schedules, or contract terms, and it does not say whether artists’ royalties are affected by the investment. Any artist considering the platform should ask for the written terms directly.
Questions to put to any distributor before signing
- What is the fee: a percentage of revenue, a flat annual charge, or both, and does it apply to every stream, download, or sync?
- Does the agreement give the distributor exclusive rights, and for how long?
- Are publishing collection, neighbouring rights, or other royalty streams included, or billed separately?
- How often are royalties reported and paid, and what is the minimum balance before payment?
- How can the agreement be ended, and how long does it take to remove releases from platforms?
A simple way to read the answers
- Request the full fee schedule and contract in writing, not a summary from a sales contact.
- Calculate what you would have received last year under the proposed fee, using your own streaming statements.
- Compare the notice period and takedown process against the term you are willing to accept.
- Only then weigh the platform’s regional reach or artist-development offers, which are announced aims rather than guaranteed benefits.
What remains unestablished
- The investment amount, valuation, ownership percentage, and governance terms.
- Any measurable results attributable to the partnership after July 2024.
- Whether the São Paulo studio opened, and whether the other forward-looking plans were completed.
- Whether the “more than 1,000 talents” figure has been updated since 2024.

The Bottom Line
Warner Music Brazil and ADA Brazil publicly backed Sua Música in July 2024 with stated goals around regional artists, distribution, and Northeast reach. The announcement does not disclose the deal’s size or terms, and it reports no outcomes. For an artist, the decision rests on the distributor’s written fee and rights terms, not on the partnership itself.
