Walmart’s “up to 65% off” headline refers to selected, rotating Flash Deals—not a universal promo code or a discount available on every item. Check the live listing for the product, seller, current price and offer end time before counting on a deal. Walmart savings can also come from eligible manufacturer coupons in U.S. stores or promo codes offered by individual Marketplace sellers; each works differently.
What “up to 65% off” means at Walmart
Walmart’s Flash Deals page describes limited-time offers and has advertised discounts “up to 65% off.” That is a promotional maximum for selected items, not a typical saving, a measured average, or a code that applies sitewide. The assortment and terms can change, and a particular product or price should not be treated as current without checking its live listing.

Using manufacturer coupons in U.S. Walmart stores
Walmart’s Coupon Policy, updated July 22, 2025, covers U.S. Walmart stores and excludes Sam’s Club locations. It says: “Walmart only accepts paper coupons which must be presented at the time of purchase with a scannable GS1 barcode and be validated by the Positive Offer file.dig.” The coupon must be valid and its product details must match the item being purchased.

Paper coupons
Walmart accepts valid paper manufacturer coupons that meet its policy. The stated default is one paper manufacturer coupon per item for in-store purchases. Identical coupons are limited to four per household per day unless the coupon specifies otherwise.
Print-at-home coupons
Walmart also accepts qualifying internet manufacturer coupons printed at home if they scan, validate, match the manufacturer’s item and have not expired. The policy rejects certain faulty or altered-looking printouts and internet coupons offering a free item without a purchase requirement.

Coupons Walmart does not accept
- Expired coupons or competitor coupons.
- Coupons presented on a mobile device.
- Manufacturer coupons for prepaid products or gift cards.
Using Marketplace seller promo codes
Walmart’s Seller Promocodes Customer Terms and Conditions state: “Some Marketplace sellers may offer promocodes on select items.” These are seller-specific offers, not a general Walmart code. Choose the qualifying item sold by the seller offering the promotion, then enter the code at checkout if the offer requires it.
Walmart’s terms set a maximum of five unique promo codes per transaction, but an offer may impose stricter limits. Seller offers are limited-time and may be canceled; they can also be subject to quantity, shipping, tax and eligibility terms. Offers generally cannot be combined unless the specific terms say otherwise. Read the terms attached to the code rather than assuming it will stack with a sale price or another promotion.

A quick check before you rely on a Walmart discount
- Identify the offer type. A Flash Deal price, a manufacturer coupon and a Marketplace seller code have different eligibility rules.
- Check the exact listing. Confirm the product, current price and seller. For a seller code, make sure the selected item is sold by the seller offering it.
- Read the conditions. Check the expiration or end time, quantity limits, coupon requirements and any rules about combining offers.
- Confirm at purchase. For a coupon, present the qualifying paper coupon or valid printout at the store. For a seller code, check that checkout accepts it and reflects the offer before completing the order.
Why a Walmart promo code may not work
- The item or seller is not eligible: Seller codes apply only to qualifying listings from the offering seller.
- The offer has ended or changed: Flash Deals and seller promotions are time-limited and availability can change.
- The code’s terms are not met: Check eligibility, quantity, shipping, tax and other offer-specific conditions.
- You are trying to combine offers: Seller codes generally cannot be combined unless their terms allow it.
- A manufacturer coupon fails policy checks: The product details may not match, the coupon may be expired, or the barcode may not scan or validate.
Are Walmart coupon codes stackable?
Do not assume that a Walmart promo code can be combined with another offer. Marketplace seller codes generally cannot be combined unless the offer says otherwise, and other terms may further restrict their use. Manufacturer coupons follow separate store-coupon rules; check the specific coupon and promotion terms rather than treating them as interchangeable with seller codes.
