What are the new savings targets?
Vodafone Group’s 8 October 2026 announcement sets out the revised annual targets for VodafoneThree, its UK business formed by combining Vodafone UK and Three UK:

The amounts are annual savings expected by the specified financial years; they are not cumulative totals. Vodafone’s investor briefing presents the targets as ambitions based on current expectations. The company cautions that savings estimates are forward-looking: they may not be achieved, may arrive earlier or later than estimated, or may differ materially from estimates.

Why does Vodafone expect to save more?
Vodafone attributes the higher ambition to several expected sources of savings: completing network build, further rationalising the network, and executing changes faster now that the Group has full ownership of VodafoneThree. Vodafone also identifies potential revenue synergies from the merger, but those are separate from the cost-savings target and should not be added to it.

Reuters reported that Vodafone agreed in May 2026 to acquire CK Hutchison’s stake for £4.3 billion, taking full ownership of the UK business. The transaction context is reported by Reuters, distributed by Euronext; Vodafone links full Group ownership to its execution plans.
ITV News has reported that the company expects to reduce overlapping mobile sites and remove duplicated costs. Those are examples of the operational changes behind the plan, rather than a separate quantified savings commitment in Vodafone’s target table.

How does the savings goal fit into VodafoneThree’s wider plan?
Vodafone’s UK growth and value-creation plan also targets mid-to-high single-digit annual growth in Adjusted EBITDAaL over FY25–FY32 and operating free cash flow of more than three times the FY25 level. These are company targets, not reported outcomes. The savings goal is one part of the plan; Vodafone has not presented potential revenue synergies as part of the £1 billion cost-savings figure.
