The important distinction for your budget: Vivrelle accessories are generally borrowed through a paid membership, while REVOLVE and FWRD items are retail purchases. Vivrelle lists Ella itself as free, but using it to borrow an accessory can involve a monthly membership fee.
What Ella is—and what you can get from it
Vivrelle launched Ella in partnership with REVOLVE and FWRD. A shopper can describe an occasion, destination, item or style goal in everyday language, then receive outfit suggestions drawn from the three companies’ products. Vivrelle’s examples include styling a Dior bag for a wedding, packing for Miami, or creating a look for an occasion. Vivrelle’s Ella page presents it as an interactive personal stylist; TechCrunch reported on the launch on September 4, 2025.
This is a mixed shopping experience, not a service that rents a complete outfit. Vivrelle supplies designer accessories that members can borrow; REVOLVE and FWRD supply products shoppers can buy. Ella brings discovery and a cart together, but the companies remain distinct retailers.
Who does what
- Vivrelle: A membership platform for borrowing designer handbags, jewelry and other luxury accessories.
- REVOLVE: A fashion and lifestyle retailer whose clothing and other products may be recommended alongside Vivrelle accessories.
- FWRD: A luxury-fashion retailer in the REVOLVE ecosystem, also supplying products for Ella recommendations.
Vivrelle describes the partnership as bringing rental, resale and traditional retail into one experience. That is the company’s positioning; the concrete Ella transaction described by the partners is a combination of Vivrelle borrowing and retail purchases. The announcement does not establish that every Ella recommendation is a resale item. See Vivrelle’s partnership page and the TechCrunch launch report.

Ella versus Complete The Look
Vivrelle offers another feature, Complete The Look, which is easier to understand as a product-page companion. Ella starts with a styling request; Complete The Look starts with an accessory.
| Feature | How it starts | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Ella | A conversational prompt about an event, destination, preference or styling need | Suggests broader outfits combining Vivrelle, REVOLVE and FWRD products |
| Complete The Look | A specific Vivrelle product page | Suggests REVOLVE and FWRD items that coordinate with the accessory being viewed |
Vivrelle says both features are free for members and site visitors. That describes access to the styling features, not the cost of borrowing a Vivrelle item. The distinction and feature descriptions appear in Vivrelle’s FAQ.

Where to use Ella and who sees personalized results
Vivrelle lists Ella on its website and in its iOS app. The website currently prompts visitors to log in or apply for the full Ella AI experience, so access and functionality may not be identical for every visitor. Vivrelle’s app listing describes Ella as pairing Vivrelle accessories with REVOLVE and FWRD outfits.
Personalization also depends on access status. Vivrelle says logged-in members receive personalized recommendations, while logged-out visitors may see picks from its style team instead. The public materials establish recommendations based on a user’s stated request, occasion and preferences; they do not establish that Ella analyzes a shopper’s body measurements, closet photos, browsing history or purchase history, or remembers preferences across sessions. Details are on Vivrelle’s partnership page.
What it costs: free styling, paid borrowing
Prices listed in Vivrelle’s FAQ, accessed August 18, 2026, are monthly and subject to change. Vivrelle says tax applies; it also says applications are free but reviewed. Check current terms and inventory before applying, since the tier, closet access and availability can affect whether a particular accessory is borrowable.
| Vivrelle option | Monthly price listed by Vivrelle |
|---|---|
| Classique | $139 plus tax |
| Classique+ | $249 plus tax |
| Couture | $239 plus tax |
| Couture+ | $339 plus tax |
| Premier add-on | $49 for eligible jewelry or selected handbags |
These prices are not a fee for Ella, nor do they cover a REVOLVE or FWRD purchase. They are the membership prices shown by Vivrelle’s FAQ; the FAQ does not make every item available to every member. If you want only an AI outfit suggestion and do not plan to borrow an accessory, consider that separately from the cost of a membership.

One cart does not mean one shipment or one return process
Vivrelle says shoppers can put Vivrelle, REVOLVE and FWRD items into a unified Ella cart and check out without leaving Ella. Payment uses the method saved in the Vivrelle account, and shipping and billing details can be updated at checkout. But the FAQ says fulfillment remains split: Vivrelle items ship from Vivrelle under its standard shipping, while REVOLVE and FWRD items ship separately. Vivrelle says REVOLVE and FWRD orders receive two-day shipping, subject to the retailers’ terms and availability; customers receive separate confirmation emails from REVOLVE or FWRD. See the FAQ.
Before placing an order, check each product’s seller, delivery estimate and return terms. The available information does not establish identical shipping speeds, return rules, promotional eligibility or support channels for every item in the cart. A single checkout interface should not be read as a promise of one package, one return policy or one customer-service team.

What “AI stylist” does—and does not—tell you
The public description supports calling Ella an AI-powered conversational styling tool: it takes a prompt and returns product recommendations across participating retailers. Vivrelle has not publicly specified in the cited materials which AI model or vendors power the feature, whether it uses a language model, rules, catalog retrieval or a combination, or how often product availability is refreshed.
The public description also does not explain whether prompts are retained or used to train systems, whether commercial agreements or inventory influence ranking, or whether Ella can explain why it chose a particular item. Treat suggestions as shopping recommendations to verify, not guarantees that an item is in stock, fits, meets a dress code or suits weather, comfort, sizing, accessibility or cultural needs. A specific bag could be unavailable, outside a member’s tier or no longer available by checkout.
What to check before using the recommendations
- Membership fit: Confirm the accessory is available to your tier and that the monthly fee makes sense for your borrowing plans.
- Seller and transaction type: Separate Vivrelle borrowing from REVOLVE and FWRD purchases when comparing the total cost.
- Stock and details: Recheck availability, color, fabric, sizing and delivery estimates on the product before checkout.
- Returns and support: Review the terms for each retailer rather than assuming the shared cart creates shared policies.
- Recommendation context: If logged out, account for the possibility that the picks are style-team selections rather than recommendations personalized to you.
- Brand relationship: Vivrelle says the luxury brands represented in its inventory are not necessarily affiliated with or sponsoring its rental process. Its FAQ provides this clarification at vivrelle.com/faqs.
The partnership’s notable feature is the combination of accessory rental with conventional fashion retail in a conversational discovery flow—not proof of a general-purpose stylist or a fully integrated retailer. TechCrunch described the launch as an early multi-retailer personalized AI shopping partnership; broader “first” claims should be treated as attributed launch framing, not independently established fact. TechCrunch’s September 4, 2025 report covers the launch.
