Venice Security announced its emergence from stealth on February 18, 2026, with $33 million in funding to build an enterprise privileged access management (PAM) platform. The total comprises an $8 million seed round and a $25 million Series A led by IVP, according to Index Ventures. Venice says its platform grants elevated access when needed and removes it when the need ends; those product capabilities have not been independently verified.

What Venice announced

Venice Security said it was emerging from stealth on February 18, 2026, and raising $33 million in total to develop its enterprise PAM platform. The company described the financing as a $25 million Series A. Venice’s announcement sets out the launch and funding.

Index Ventures’ account breaks the total into two rounds:

Round Amount Investors identified by Index Ventures
Seed $8 million Led by Index Ventures
Series A $25 million Led by IVP, with Index Ventures continuing to participate

Index also names Vine Ventures, Holly Ventures and angel investors among the backers. The company was formerly called Valkyrie, and has operations in Tel Aviv and New York, according to SecurityWeek. Index identifies co-founders Rotem Lurie as CEO and Or Vaknin as CTO.

What Venice says its PAM platform does

Privileged access management governs accounts and permissions that can reach sensitive systems or make consequential changes. Venice positions its product as “adaptive” PAM: rather than leaving elevated permissions in place, it says the platform discovers identities and their entitlements, grants privileged access when required, and revokes it when the task is over. This is the company’s description, not an independently tested assessment of the platform.

Identity and environment coverage

Venice says it is designed to cover human users, machine identities and AI-driven identities across cloud, SaaS, on-premises and hybrid environments. Its materials also describe real-time controls. These are vendor-stated scope and capability claims; the available announcements do not establish performance across specific systems or deployments.

  • EFFECTIVE PROTECTION: Employs advanced filtering technologies to safeguard against sophisticated threats.

Deployment approach

Venice and SecurityWeek describe the product as operating without agents or proxies. The current Venice product site calls it a unified PAM platform and promotes just-in-time access. Organizations evaluating it would still need to confirm which integrations and deployment conditions apply to their own infrastructure.

Why just-in-time access matters

Standing privileges remain available even when a person or service is not actively performing privileged work. Time-bound access aims to reduce that exposure by making elevated permissions temporary. In practice, the value depends on whether access can be granted quickly enough for legitimate work, scoped to the right resources, and reliably removed afterward. Venice’s launch materials state this as the product’s goal; they do not provide independent evidence that it achieves a particular reduction in risk.

Funding context and market claims

Index Ventures places the financing against an estimated PAM market of $5.94 billion in 2024 and a projected $11.23 billion in 2030. Those figures are Index’s estimates and projection, respectively; the underlying sizing method is not established in the cited article. The 2030 figure should be read as a forecast, not a realized market value.

Index’s article also describes customer traction and displacement of existing approaches. Such statements are attributable to the investor or company; they do not amount to independent validation of customer outcomes or a guarantee that the platform will replace another organization’s tools.

What the announcement does—and does not—establish

  • Established by the announcements: Venice disclosed $33 million in total funding, with an $8 million seed round and $25 million Series A, and identified IVP as the Series A lead.
  • Described by Venice: a just-in-time approach intended to discover identities and entitlements and grant then revoke privileged access across human, machine and AI identities.
  • Not established by the cited materials: controlled comparisons with named PAM competitors, independently measured security outcomes, or validation of the market-size methodology.

For a finance-minded reader, this is a company-funding and enterprise-software story—not a consumer investment offer. The announcement provides no public terms for investing in Venice, and funding raised by a private company should not be treated as a direct opportunity for individual investors.
