SecurityWeek independently reported the announcement and the same investors. Bold describes its product as an on-device AI security agent for enterprise endpoints; its performance and privacy claims remain company statements.
What Bold announced
Bold Security’s March 12, 2026 announcement said the company had raised $40 million and was coming out of stealth. The named investors were Bessemer Venture Partners, Picture Capital, and Red Dot Capital Partners. Bold’s announcement and SecurityWeek’s report support the funding amount and investor names.
The sources do not state the company’s valuation or provide detailed financing terms. Bold said it plans to use the funding to accelerate go-to-market work and continue developing its edge AI platform.
What Bold says its product does
Bold presents its service as an AI security agent that runs on enterprise endpoints. According to the company, it classifies data, monitors user behavior, and enforces security measures by analyzing users, data, and business context locally. Its stated use cases include sensitive files copied to personal cloud storage, customer information pasted into AI tools, unauthorized AI agents, regulated data sent to the wrong recipient, and data moved before an employee leaves.

#1 Best Overall
Bold says customer data is not used to train its models, evidence remains in customer-controlled storage, and sensitive data does not leave the endpoint. These are the company’s descriptions; the available material does not include an independent technical assessment of its privacy or security practices.
Bold’s performance and deployment claims
Bold describes the agent as lightweight, says it automatically maps data flows, and claims it requires zero configuration. It also says deployment to real-time protection takes 60 seconds. That figure is a vendor claim, not an independently verified benchmark in the available reporting.
The company reports up to 90% lower alert volume among early enterprise customers. Its announcement does not specify the sample size, measurement method, or an independent verification, so the figure should be read as a company-reported result rather than a general performance measure.
Customers named at launch
Bold says it is deployed with U.S. enterprises including Shutterfly, Spencer Stuart, and Tekion. The announcement does not include customer quotations, deployment dates, or contract details; these are company-reported examples.

What remains unknown
The launch announcement establishes the funding amount and investors, but not valuation or detailed deal terms. It also does not provide independent product testing or substantiate the company’s claims about alert reduction, deployment speed, privacy, or customer deployments. The launch materials do not offer a substantive comparison with competing endpoint security products, so they do not establish how Bold performs relative to alternatives.
