On Thursday, October 8, 2026, Hamariweb and ForexTrading.pk listed the open-market dollar at PKR 277.50 buying and PKR 278.10 selling. A later Mettis Global report quoted exchange companies at PKR 277.20 buying and PKR 280.00 selling, while the interbank market closed at PKR 277.01 per dollar. These are attributed snapshots from different sources and times—not a guaranteed rate at every exchange counter.

The published figures differ by source and market. Compare the market and the side of the transaction before using a quote:

The ForexTrading.pk and Mettis Global figures are not synchronized: the former labels its table 03:19 PKT, while Mettis published its report at 04:06 PM PKT. Forex.pk’s PKR 278.05 is a separate one-sided page quote, so it should not be treated as the same kind of two-sided open-market rate shown by the other tables.
Which rate applies when you exchange cash?
Use the exchange provider’s buying rate if you are selling US dollars for rupees. Use its selling rate if you are buying dollars with rupees. The figures above are published market snapshots; they do not establish the price a particular customer will receive at a specific counter.

What “holds firm” means in this update
Mettis Global reported an interbank close of PKR 277.01 per dollar, compared with PKR 277.02 in the previous session. That one-paisa difference supports describing the rupee as nearly unchanged at that session’s interbank close. It does not establish a longer-term trend, explain what caused the movement, or mean that open-market cash quotes were identical across providers.

The quotes are from different publishers, reflect different market categories or quote formats, and were recorded at different times. Hamariweb attributes its table to the Forex Association of Pakistan; ForexTrading.pk says its rates are updated based on exchange dealers; Mettis Global reported exchange-company quotes alongside the interbank close. The available figures are attributed snapshots, not a verified standardized nationwide open-market cash rate. For a transaction, the relevant rate is the one the provider confirms for your exchange and its terms.
