US Open 2024 Prize Money: Payouts by Round and Event

The 2024 US Open awarded $75 million in total player compensation. The men’s and women’s singles champions each received a $3.6 million tournament award; Jannik Sinner won the men’s title and Aryna Sabalenka won the women’s. The figures below are gross tournament awards, not confirmed after-tax income.

2024 US Open singles prize money by round

The USTA’s official schedule listed the same award amounts for men’s and women’s main-draw singles. A player received the amount for the round reached.

Doubles and mixed doubles awards

Doubles and mixed doubles figures were published per team, not per player. A team’s members may divide the award, but the schedule does not state an individual share.

How 2024 payouts compared with earlier years

The USTA said the $75 million total was 15% higher than in 2023. Singles champions’ awards rose 20%, from $3 million in 2023 to $3.6 million in 2024, while first-round main-draw singles awards rose 23% to $100,000.

Over five years, the first-round main-draw singles award increased 72%, from $58,000 in 2019. The final-round qualifying-loser payment increased 63%, from $32,000 in 2019 to $52,000 in 2024. The USTA also described 2024 as the 50th year of equal prize money for men and women at the tournament. These comparisons are from its 2024 announcement.

What the prize-money figures do—and don’t—mean

The published amounts are tournament awards. They are not a calculation of what a player ultimately kept: the official materials do not account for taxes, agent fees, or other expenses. The US Open’s September 8 recap confirmed that $75 million in total prize-money compensation was awarded. Read the tournament’s post-event recap.

There was no 2024 US Open Wheelchair Championships because of the Paris Paralympic Games. The USTA said it provided direct-acceptance players with grants intended to ensure equivalent prize-money compensation.
