The reported shifts are 10 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. India local time on each date. The schedule replaces the earlier October 23–25 plan. Check the official UPSSSC website, upsssc.gov.in, and your admit card for any further notice and your individual venue and reporting instructions.
Revised UPSSSC PET 2026 dates and shift timings
Careers360 reported on September 25, 2026, that UPSSSC had revised the written PET schedule under Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026. The dates and shift hours reported are:
| Exam date | First shift | Second shift |
|---|---|---|
| October 25, 2026 | 10 a.m.–noon | 3 p.m.–5 p.m. |
| October 30, 2026 | 10 a.m.–noon | 3 p.m.–5 p.m. |
| November 1, 2026 | 10 a.m.–noon | 3 p.m.–5 p.m. |
The times are reported as India local time. The date revision did not change the shift hours, according to the report. Your admit card, once issued, is the place to confirm your own shift, reporting time, venue and exam-day instructions.
What changed from the earlier schedule?
| Schedule | Dates | Shift hours |
|---|---|---|
| Earlier planned timetable | October 23, 24 and 25, 2026 | 10 a.m.–noon and 3 p.m.–5 p.m. |
| Revised timetable reported September 25 | October 25, 30 and November 1, 2026 | 10 a.m.–noon and 3 p.m.–5 p.m. |
The earlier dates appeared in a tentative calendar; the September revision supplies the specific dates reported for the examination. Use the latest commission notice rather than the older calendar if the information differs.
How to check the admit card and official updates
At the time of Careers360’s September 25 report, a separate PET admit-card notice was expected. That report does not establish whether the admit card is available now. Check upsssc.gov.in for the live notice and admit-card link, then read the card carefully for your candidate-specific details. Follow the commission’s portal for any later amendment; a news report is not a substitute for the official notice or your admit card.
- Go to the official UPSSSC website, upsssc.gov.in.
- Look for the latest PET 2026 notice or admit-card link and follow the commission’s instructions to access your card.
- Check the date, shift, reporting time, examination venue and any required documents or other instructions printed on the card.
- Check the portal again for any subsequent schedule change before travelling to the venue.
What the PET is—and what it does not mean
The UPSSSC PET is a qualifying examination for later recruitment exams, with examples including Lekhpal, Village Development Officer (VDO) and Junior Assistant. Qualifying PET does not itself provide a job or guarantee appointment; candidates must meet the requirements and selection stages for the relevant recruitment.
NDTV reported approximately 35.42 lakh registered candidates in its September 26, 2026, coverage. That figure is attributed to NDTV; the available reporting does not independently establish it through a primary UPSSSC release.

The schedule covered here is for UPSSSC’s written Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026. The reporting does not establish a separate “CTS” examination or a physical PET/PST event. Candidates looking for this schedule should therefore distinguish the written PET from any physical standard or efficiency test that may be part of a different recruitment process.
