What the result means
The July 2024 notice says candidates whose roll numbers appeared in the result qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024. It also states, “The candidature of these candidates is provisional.” A prelims result therefore indicated progression to Mains, not final appointment.
Rank #3
Qualified candidates were required to apply again through Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I). The July notice said dates and instructions would be announced on UPSC’s website. The 2024 cycle later concluded with UPSC’s final result, announced by PIB on 22 April 2025.
UPSC Prelims 2024 marksheet and cutoff
The result PDF is not the marksheet. The July 2024 notice said marks, cutoff marks and answer keys would be uploaded after the Civil Services and Indian Forest Service 2024 processes ended, following the final result. UPSC’s online marksheet archive lists the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2024 marksheet as uploaded on 28 April 2025 and available until 28 May 2030.
