The UPSC ESE 2024 Personality Test schedule was issued on 13 September 2024, with interviews beginning on 7 October 2024. This is a completed examination cycle, not an announcement for upcoming interviews. The notice listed roll-number-specific appointments for 617 candidates, with forenoon reporting at 09:00 and afternoon reporting at 13:00.
Where to find the UPSC ESE 2024 interview schedule
The detailed schedule is a roll-number-based list: check your own entry for the appointment date and session rather than choosing a date from the overall interview period. The notice covered appointments from 7 October through 6 November 2024.
Hindustan Times’ 2024 report reproduced the download link and listed the scheduled days as 7–10 October, 14–18 October, 21–25 October, and 4–6 November. The schedule copy linked from that report is hosted outside UPSC and should be treated as an archival copy of a notice bearing the Commission’s name, dated 13 September 2024. UPSC’s official Interview Schedules page is the preferred source for current schedules; the entries surfaced there on 8 October 2026 were for 2026, not the 2024 cycle.
How to check an individual appointment
- Open the archived schedule PDF and search for your roll number using the document viewer’s search function.
- Read the date and session shown on that roll-number entry; the notice’s session reporting times were 09:00 for forenoon and 13:00 for afternoon.
- Use your e-Summon Letter as the controlling appointment information and follow its instructions. The schedule notice said e-Summon Letters would be made available through the Commission’s website, upsc.gov.in.
The listed period alone does not identify a candidate’s appointment. The roll-number entry and e-Summon Letter are what determine the individual date and session.
What candidates were told to do before the Personality Test
UPSC’s result notice, published by the Press Information Bureau, instructed candidates to submit the Detailed Application Form (DAF) online with scanned supporting documents. Candidates also had to bring applicable original certificates supporting age, educational qualification, community or reservation status, and disability claims. The notice warned that candidates without required original evidence could be barred from appearing before the Personality Test Board and would not receive travel allowance. See the PIB notice on the ESE 2024 written-examination result and Personality Test instructions.
Could candidates change their interview date?
The 13 September schedule notice stated: “No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test (Interview) intimated to the candidates will ordinarily be entertained.” A separate earlier PIB notice said change requests would not be entertained “under any circumstances.” These are distinct statements from separate notices; neither should be taken as an assurance that a change would be granted.

What the schedule says about travel reimbursement
The 2024 schedule notice restricted interview travel reimbursement to Second/Sleeper class Mail Express train fare, with other travel modes or classes addressed under the government rules and UPSC guidance cited in that notice. These were terms for the 2024 cycle; candidates in a later cycle should check that cycle’s own notice rather than assume the same reimbursement rules apply.

UPSC’s final-result announcement confirms that the ESE 2024 interviews took place in October and November 2024. The schedule is useful for checking the historical roll-number appointments and instructions, but it is not a current interview announcement. For another examination cycle, use the current UPSC schedule and the candidate’s own e-Summon Letter.
