Is the UP NHM CHO application still open?
No. The 2024 application period opened on 28 October 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and ended on 17 November 2024 at 11:59 p.m., according to NHM UP’s corrigendum dated 25 October 2024. The official opportunities page continues to list that historical application window and, as checked on 8 October 2026, displays later notices for other positions but no open CHO application in its opportunities table.
Do not use an old application link or treat the 2024 deadline as extended. For a new opening or revised deadline, rely on a fresh official notice or corrigendum published by NHM UP.
What did the 7,401-post notice include?
The vacancies were contractual CHO positions intended for rural and village Sub-Health Centre-level Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, working in coordination with the primary healthcare team. The notice described the recruitment as part of the Ayushman Bharat effort to strengthen primary healthcare, disease prevention and health promotion.

How was selection for this drive to work?
The notice set out a computer-based test (CBT), followed by document verification for shortlisted candidates. NHM UP’s CHO-CCHN syllabus notification dated 24 December 2024 described a 100-mark exam lasting two hours.
- 20% of questions: general knowledge related to health and current affairs, analytical and communication skills, reasoning, mathematics, and computer-based skills.
- 80% of questions: domain-specific material, including anatomy and physiology, community health, epidemiology and disease prevention, child and maternal health, nutrition, family planning, immunization, adolescent health, national health programmes, emergencies, and general pharmacology.
This syllabus relates to the 2024 drive. It should not be assumed to apply to a later recruitment unless NHM UP confirms it in a new notice. Anyone preparing for a future exam should use the syllabus attached to that recruitment rather than relying on the 2024 document alone.

How to check for a future CHO application
- Open the NHM UP Recruitment/Career — Opportunities page.
- Look for a new Community Health Officer notice and read its full advertisement and any corrigenda.
- Confirm the application dates, eligibility, vacancy distribution, required documents, exam format and posting conditions in that notice. Do not carry forward the 2024 terms automatically.
- Use only the application link and instructions given in the official notice. NHM UP advises candidates to check its official website regularly for recruitment updates.
