NHM Uttar Pradesh advertised 5,582 contractual Community Health Officer (CHO) posts in January 2024. The published application window ran from 29 January to 7 February 2024 and has passed; it is not a current opening. The notice set out specific nursing qualifications, registration rules, age limits, pay and a three-year service commitment.
How many posts were announced, and when could candidates apply?
The January 2024 advertisement listed 5,582 contractual CHO vacancies for rural or village Sub-Health Centre Health and Wellness Centres in Uttar Pradesh. CHOs were to coordinate with the primary-healthcare team. The original online application schedule was 29 January 2024 at 11:00 a.m. through 7 February 2024 at 11:59 p.m. These are historical dates, not an active application period. Who was eligible for the January 2024 drive?
Education and nursing registration
The notice required B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with an integrated Certificate in Community Health for Nurses (CCHN), from an institute or university recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or a State Nursing Council, and subject to the notice’s specified academic-year integration condition. Applicants also needed registration with the UP Nurses & Midwives Council. Applicants registered with another state council could apply only subject to the notice’s requirement to submit UP registration after provisional joining, within 90 days; non-compliance carried consequences under the notice. Candidates already working as a CHO in Uttar Pradesh were ineligible. Check the detailed notice for the precise qualification and registration conditions.
Age and reservation
The base age range was 21–40 years as of the application closing date, with relaxations for categories specified in the notice. The matriculation or secondary-school certificate date of birth was the age record. The advertised vertical reservation totals were 2,233 UR, 558 EWS, 1,508 OBC, 1,172 SC and 111 ST. Reservation eligibility was subject to the notice’s domicile and certificate requirements; consult it for category-specific rules and horizontal reservations.

What were the pay and service conditions?
The January notice offered a monthly honorarium of ₹20,500, plus a performance-based incentive of up to ₹15,000 per month after posting, subject to applicable government guidelines. “Up to” is a maximum incentive, not a guaranteed monthly amount. The role was contractual and carried a ₹2.5 lakh surety bond and a minimum three-year service commitment at a Sub-Health Centre HWC in Uttar Pradesh. These terms refer to the January 2024 notice, not a current offer.
Was there a separate UP NHM CHO recruitment later in 2024?
Yes. A corrigendum dated 25 October 2024 described a separate drive for 7,401 contractual CHO vacancies, not an extension of the January application round. That later notice set its own dates, selection stages and compensation. NHM Uttar Pradesh’s October 2024 corrigendum.

The October notice retained the integrated nursing-with-CCHN qualification route, registration conditions and 21–40 base age range, but its dates, vacancies, selection and remuneration apply to that later drive. Both published 2024 application windows have passed; the notices do not establish that either has reopened or establish a complete current status history for the later drive.
