The California State Athletic Commission-disclosed purses reported after UFC 311 were $200,000 for Islam Makhachev, $250,000 for Renato Moicano and $500,000 for Merab Dvalishvili. Those are reported purse figures, not confirmed all-in paydays. Moicano later said his total UFC 311 payday was over $950,000, a separate fighter-reported figure that includes more than the disclosed purse.
What were the reported UFC 311 purses?
Sherdog reported the following figures as disclosed purses released by the California State Athletic Commission in its January 19, 2025 coverage. The figures should not be read as final take-home pay or a complete account of compensation.
| Fighter | Reported disclosed purse | Attribution |
|---|---|---|
| Merab Dvalishvili | $500,000 | California State Athletic Commission disclosure, as reported by Sherdog, January 19, 2025 |
| Renato Moicano | $250,000 | California State Athletic Commission disclosure, as reported by Sherdog, January 19, 2025 |
| Islam Makhachev | $200,000 | California State Athletic Commission disclosure, as reported by Sherdog, January 19, 2025 |
These are the three headline figures reported in Sherdog’s UFC 311 salary report. The article’s title uses “estimated,” but these specific numbers were reported as disclosed purses, not estimates of total income.
How much did Islam Makhachev make at UFC 311?
Makhachev’s reported disclosed purse was $200,000. A separate Money MMA breakdown, which attributes its figures to the California commission release, lists $42,000 in fight-week incentive pay and reports $242,000 in total salary and incentive pay. That $242,000 is a secondary-source breakdown, not an independently verified final-pay figure; it does not establish net earnings or include every possible income source.

How much did Renato Moicano get paid for UFC 311?
Moicano’s reported disclosed purse was $250,000. Money MMA’s detailed breakdown adds $32,000 in fight-week incentive pay and reports $282,000 in salary and incentive pay. In a January 24, 2025 interview reported by MMA Fighting, Moicano later described his UFC 311 payday as “Over [$950,000],” in response to a question about the size of his bonus check. That is Moicano’s own later account, not the commission-disclosed purse or a verified itemized accounting.
The figures describe different scopes: $250,000 is the reported disclosed purse; $282,000 is a secondary report of salary plus specified incentives; and “over $950,000” is Moicano’s later statement about his total payday. They should not be combined or treated as interchangeable.

What was Merab Dvalishvili’s UFC 311 purse?
Dvalishvili’s reported disclosed purse was $500,000, the largest among the three fighters listed above. Money MMA reports $50,000 for a Fight of the Night bonus and $42,000 in fight-week incentive pay, for a reported $592,000 in salary and incentive pay. This is a secondary breakdown attributed to the commission release, not a confirmed net payday.
Why do the reported figures differ?
A disclosed purse is only one category of fighter compensation. Sherdog’s January 19 report notes that state athletic commission disclosures do not include performance-based or discretionary bonuses that the promotion may award. It also notes that sponsorship money is not included and that the disclosed figures do not reflect commission deductions.

- Hybrid Open Palm Design: Allows for secure grip during grappling while protecting the knuckles during strikes.

- Wrist Support: Reinforced wrist support provides stability and injury prevention during intense training.
- Unisex Sizing: Available in various sizes to accommodate both men and women fighters.
Money MMA’s January 19 breakdown supplies additional line items—such as incentives and a Fight of the Night bonus—but it is a secondary report. Moicano’s later statement gives a much higher total without an itemized public accounting in the cited report. The distinctions matter: a disclosed purse, a reported salary-and-incentive subtotal, and a fighter’s own description of total payday are not the same measure.

What the reported pay figures do—and do not—tell you
- Disclosed purses: the commission-attributed amounts reported by Sherdog—$200,000 for Makhachev, $250,000 for Moicano and $500,000 for Dvalishvili.
- Expanded subtotals: Money MMA’s secondary reporting adds specified incentive and bonus payments, producing reported totals of $242,000, $282,000 and $592,000 respectively.
- Total earnings: neither a disclosed purse nor the secondary subtotals establish take-home pay after deductions or a complete total that includes every bonus, sponsorship, or other income source. Moicano’s “over $950,000” remains his reported statement about his payday.
