UFC 302’s headline-fighter pay was not officially disclosed in the New Jersey event-results record. A secondary site estimated Islam Makhachev’s earnings at $1,842,000 and Dustin Poirier’s at $1,282,000, but those figures are estimates—not confirmed purses or proof of what either fighter was paid.
What are the reported UFC 302 pay figures?
UFC Fans published the following estimates on June 4, 2024. Its page says the amounts are calculated from potential earnings using contract-based figures that had already been disclosed; it does not establish that these specific totals came from the New Jersey commission or from the fighters’ disclosed bout contracts.
| Fighter | Reported amount | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Islam Makhachev | $1,842,000 | UFC Fans estimate, not an officially disclosed purse or confirmed payment |
| Dustin Poirier | $1,282,000 | UFC Fans estimate, not an officially disclosed purse or confirmed payment |
The estimates are not interchangeable with a guaranteed purse, actual total compensation, or a commission-reported payment. The available material does not show the underlying contracts or independent contemporaneous reporting that would verify either total. UFC Fans’ estimate page
Were UFC 302 purses officially disclosed?
The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board’s event record documents the bouts, results and medical suspensions, but it does not list purse amounts. SalarySport’s UFC 302 page likewise says purses were not disclosed for the card. That means the two headline figures should be described as secondary estimates, not as purses “revealed” by the commission. New Jersey State Athletic Control Board SalarySport’s UFC 302 purse page

How do the reported $50,000 awards fit in?
SalarySport lists four promotional awards worth $50,000 each: Fight of the Night for Makhachev and Poirier, and Performance of the Night for Makhachev and Kevin Holland. These are reported awards, a distinct category from a commission-disclosed purse and from UFC Fans’ estimated earnings totals. The available page does not establish that these awards are included in the estimates, so they should not be added to those totals as though they were separate confirmed payments.
What happened in the main event?
UFC 302 took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on June 1, 2024. In the lightweight title bout, Makhachev submitted Poirier at 2:42 of round five with a D’Arce choke. The official event and commission records establish the venue, date and result; they do not establish the fighters’ total earnings. UFC 302 event page New Jersey event record
