UberX is Uber’s everyday ride option for up to four passengers. Uber Comfort adds newer vehicles with extra legroom, highly rated and experienced drivers, and the option to set preferences for conversation and temperature. There is no universal Comfort surcharge: compare the quoted fares and available options for your specific trip in the Uber app.
What is the difference between UberX and Uber Comfort?

Uber’s descriptions establish Comfort’s added features, but they do not guarantee a particular vehicle model year or a specific experience on an individual ride.
How much more does Uber Comfort cost?
Uber’s general product pages do not set a fixed price difference between Comfort and UberX. Fares depend on the trip and the options currently available for its location, so a general price estimate would not tell you what you will pay.
- Open the Uber app and enter your pickup point and destination.
- Review the ride options and quoted fares for that same trip.
- Compare UberX and Comfort if both appear, then choose based on the price shown and the features that matter to you.
Uber’s eligible-vehicle page says ride options vary by city. The app is the place to confirm the current options and quote for your trip.

What does Comfort eligibility mean for riders?
Uber’s driver-facing Comfort page says eligible drivers need at least 100 completed trips, a minimum rating of 4.85, and an eligible vehicle. Model-year requirements differ by make and model.
