Why were prices climbing during the Iran conflict?
The Forbes report linked the increase to energy-market reaction during the conflict. Oil prices were also rising: the article said Brent crude moved above $85 per barrel on Tuesday, March 3, its highest level since July 2024. Higher crude prices can put upward pressure on gasoline costs, but the available reporting does not establish that the conflict alone caused the entire week’s increase.
