Philadelphia beat Kansas City 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, but the final score is not evidence that any pregame pick was predictable. The surviving evidence supports a look at one sportsbook’s dated prop menu and at betting activity described by Caesars and BetMGM—not a complete closing-odds comparison or an audited measure of all wagers.
Super Bowl LIX result and the game data
Super Bowl LIX was played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Philadelphia defeated Kansas City 40–22, according to the NFL’s official game summary.

The official gamebook records 345 total yards for the Eagles and 275 for the Chiefs. Philadelphia gained 135 yards on the ground; Kansas City gained 49. Those figures describe what happened in this game. They do not show that a pregame betting angle was certain or that a wager based on the result would have been a sound decision at the time.
Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl LIX Most Valuable Player, the NFL reported on February 9, 2025. The NFL’s MVP report confirms the award.

What the pregame prop evidence shows
Circa Sports published an event-specific sheet titled “Super Bowl LIX Props 2025-02-09 — Revised 2025-01-29.” It is evidence that Circa offered a menu of props before the game, not a record of every sportsbook’s offerings or a cross-book consensus. The sheet says: “All props to be graded based on NFL.com box score.” See the Circa prop sheet for its listed markets and terms.
A prop’s result cannot always be determined from a player’s box-score statistic alone: the market wording and operator rules can affect grading. The available record does not establish a complete ledger of prop lines, prices, and winners or losers across operators. For a historical wager audit, match the exact listed market and its terms to the relevant official game data rather than treating a stat in isolation as proof of settlement.
What the game says about the matchup—not the pregame odds
NFL.com reported that Philadelphia generated a 38.1% pressure rate without blitzing, attributing the Next Gen Stats insight to NFL Pro. That is a game-specific explanation of how the Eagles disrupted Kansas City, not a standalone rule for predicting another game. NFL.com’s postgame analysis discusses the performance.

Postgame stats can explain a result, but they cannot establish what a bettor could have known before kickoff. Nor do the score and yardage totals identify which pregame prices offered value: evaluating that requires the dated line, odds, market rules, and the information available when the wager was placed.

What Caesars and BetMGM said about betting activity
In an Associated Press report dated February 10, 2025, BetMGM and Caesars each described Super Bowl LIX as the most-bet single sporting event in their respective histories. Those are operator-specific claims reported by AP, not an independently audited total for the betting industry. Caesars also said that, for the first time at a Super Bowl, it took more game parlays than traditional straight wagers. The AP report attributes the figures and characterizations to the companies.
Caesars vice president of trading Craig Mucklow described action on Kansas City this way: “A significant amount of wagers flooded in on KC at longer odds on the money line and all spreads we posted, all the way up to +28.5.” This is Mucklow’s account of Caesars’ betting activity, not a market-wide measurement or a full history of the lines bettors saw.
BetMGM senior trading manager Christian Cipollini described the company’s results as follows: “Super Bowl bettors cashed in on Eagles money line and Jalen Hurts Super Bowl MVP, but both defenses slowing down Saquon Barkley and Travis Kelce netted a great result for us.” That statement describes BetMGM’s book results according to its trading manager; it is not a complete report of bettor outcomes across sportsbooks.

A spread, total, or moneyline is meaningful only when tied to a sportsbook and a time. Prices can differ by operator and move before kickoff; live prices are a separate snapshot from pregame prices. The available evidence does not establish a complete, comparable closing spread, total, or moneyline across books, so it cannot support one number as “the market” closing line.

Keep each operator’s quote separate rather than averaging unlike snapshots into a claim of consensus. The Circa sheet is useful for the markets and terms it documents, while AP’s account supplies attributed operator statements about betting activity; neither is a full sportsbook-by-sportsbook price history.
