What happened to George after Chelsea?
Everton loan, February 2026
On 2 February 2026, BBC Sport reported that Everton had taken George on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the move permanent. The BBC described him as 19 and a Chelsea academy graduate at the time. He said: “The fans here are exceptional. I know Evertonians are really passionate. They like hard work – and that’s what I’m going to show.”
Permanent transfer agreement, July 2026
On 4 July, The Standard reported that Chelsea and Everton had agreed a permanent transfer for £18 million plus up to £6 million in add-ons, with a 15% sell-on clause for Chelsea. It said George had made 11 Premier League appearances for Everton during his loan, without a goal or assist.

The Independent reported on 5 July that Everton did not exercise a £25 million purchase option in the loan agreement and instead negotiated a lower upfront fee. These are outlet-specific accounts of the negotiations; transfer-fee reporting is separate from wage estimates and cannot verify what George earned at Chelsea.
