In particular, “per winner” may not mean the same thing as “per ticket”: a winning ticket could be held by more than one person. Lotterywest’s 29 December 2025 release, “Thornlie and Beldon celebrate in last Saturday draw of 2025”, reported 11 WA Division Two prizes worth more than $10,000 each, as well as two WA Division One tickets worth $936,180 each. That is another distinct draw, not confirmation of the seven-winner, $44,000-plus claim.
What would establish the result
To verify the headline, an official draw record or original article needs to identify the game and draw date, confirm seven Division Two winners, state the prize per winning ticket, and identify the two WA winners or ticket locations. Until those details are available, the confirmed Lotterywest examples above should not be conflated with the event described in the headline.
