Trump Media Stock: What the Dated Price Reports and 2026 Results Show

DJT is TMTG stock, not a separate Truth Social share. Dated price reports and the company’s second-quarter 2026 results provide context, but do not establish a current quote or a single cause of the decline.

“Truth Social stock” is shorthand: Truth Social is a service operated by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), whose publicly traded shares use the ticker DJT. TMTG’s second-quarter 2026 results showed a substantial reported loss, while the available share-price reports point to separate, dated declines—not a verified October 8, 2026 price or a complete explanation for the stock’s movement.

What company’s stock is DJT?

DJT is the stock ticker for Trump Media & Technology Group, the company that operates Truth Social. The social network does not issue a separate publicly traded stock. Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC) was TMTG’s predecessor before the 2024 business combination; DWAC was renamed TMTG when that transaction closed. Company background

That distinction matters when interpreting headlines about “Truth Social stock”: they refer to shares in the parent company, not ownership in Truth Social alone.

What do the reported share-price figures establish?

A June 25, 2026, Daily Beast report said DJT closed at $7.52 on June 24, below a previously reported low of $7.76. The article attributed the comparison to Futurism. Because this is secondary reporting rather than an exchange record, treat it as a reported historical observation, not an authoritative price history. Daily Beast report

The Associated Press separately reported that DJT fell 8% in regular trading on August 10, 2026, when TMTG released its results. That is a one-session decline, not the same measure as the June closing-price report. Neither figure establishes the October 8, 2026 share price, a peak-to-date return, or the reason for the stock’s movement. Associated Press coverage

What did TMTG report for the second quarter?

For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, TMTG reported a $238.1 million net loss and a $223.5 million adjusted EBITDA loss. The company said the vast bulk of the losses was non-cash, including unrealized losses on digital assets and equity securities, accreted interest, and stock-based compensation. Those are company-reported figures and explanations. TMTG second-quarter 2026 results

The same release reported $1.9 billion in financial assets and $13.7 million of cash used in operating activities during the quarter. These figures describe different things: financial assets are not the same as cash generated by operations, and neither number by itself establishes TMTG’s market value or the value of DJT shares.

How much of the loss came from investment accounting?

In its Form 10-Q for the six months ended June 30, 2026, TMTG reported $360.6451 million in unrealized losses on digital assets and pledged digital assets. The filing attributed these losses to declines in bitcoin and Cronos prices between December 31, 2025, and June 30, 2026. It also reported $235.406 million in unrealized losses on equity securities within investment loss. TMTG Form 10-Q

These amounts help explain components of the company’s reported earnings. They do not establish a complete cause of DJT’s share-price decline: accounting losses on investments and market-price movements in the company’s stock are distinct measures.

What strategy and merger developments did management cite?

AP reported that management was moving away from several non-media initiatives. On the earnings call, interim CEO Kevin McGurn said, “We made the disciplined choice to pivot in order to invest more time and resources in our most important initiatives,” and, “We will say no to things or change course as warranted.” These statements describe management’s strategy, not proof that the pivot will improve results. TMTG’s second-quarter release described its proposed merger with TAE Technologies as progressing. McGurn called it what the company “believe[s] is the most important driver of long-term shareholder value” and a natural extension of its commitment to energy security. This is management’s forward-looking view; the materials identify the merger as proposed and pending, not completed or guaranteed to benefit shareholders. TMTG statement on the proposed TAE merger

What can investors conclude from these reports?

  • The reported June price and August one-day decline are separate historical observations; they are not a current quote or a single return calculation.
  • TMTG disclosed a large quarterly loss and said most of it reflected non-cash items, alongside cash used in operations.
  • The filing’s investment-related losses explain some reported earnings effects, but do not account for every factor that could influence DJT’s market price.
  • The company’s strategy changes and proposed TAE transaction are developments to assess separately from results already achieved.

The cited reports do not establish a current October 8, 2026 quote, a verified peak-to-date loss, or one definitive cause of the stock’s decline. A precise return calculation would require verified prices for both a specified starting date and ending date.
