No. As of October 5, 2026, E. Jean Carroll has received the $5 million jury award plus interest—more than $5.6 million, according to the Associated Press. The Supreme Court rejected Donald Trump’s request to review that judgment on June 29, 2026, and denied rehearing on August 17. Trump separately appealed the later order directing payment; the available reporting does not establish the outcome of that appeal.

What the Supreme Court rejected

The Supreme Court’s June 29, 2026, denial of review left standing the $5 million judgment in Carroll II. The Second Circuit had affirmed the judgment on December 30, 2024. The Supreme Court then denied Trump’s request for rehearing on August 17, 2026. The docket records these actions in case No. 25-573; the Second Circuit’s December 30, 2024 opinion describes the judgment and appeal.

In this civil case, a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll in 1996 and defaming her in statements made in 2022. It awarded compensatory and punitive damages totaling $5 million. This was a civil jury finding, not a criminal conviction. On appeal, the Second Circuit considered challenges to trial evidence, including testimony from two women and a recording of a 2005 conversation, and concluded the challenged rulings did not require reversal.

Did Trump pay Carroll the $5 million?

Carroll received the $5 million principal and accrued post-judgment interest in July 2026. The Associated Press reported that she collected more than $5.6 million. Carroll’s attorney Roberta Kaplan told the AP, “We are pleased to report that she has received the damages payment.” The AP’s July report covered the payment and Trump’s response.

The payment order is a separate issue

On July 8, 2026, the district court directed disbursement of the principal and accrued interest. Trump filed a separate appeal from that disbursement order, and his lawyers sought to stop or reverse the payment. That later appeal concerns the transfer of funds; it is distinct from the Supreme Court’s rejection of review of the underlying $5 million judgment. The available reporting does not establish the final disposition of the disbursement appeal.

How this differs from Carroll’s $83.3 million case

The $5 million judgment is from Carroll II and is separate from the $83.3 million award in Carroll I. The latter case has its own appeal and Supreme Court proceedings; its amounts and status should not be added to or treated as part of the $5 million judgment.

The Second Circuit denied rehearing en banc in the $83.3 million case in April 2026. As of October 5, 2026, the Supreme Court docket for No. 26-141 showed Trump’s petition for review pending, with a response deadline of October 30. See the Supreme Court docket for No. 26-141 and the Second Circuit materials concerning Carroll I.
