Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited’s FY2024–25 filing reports ₹1,537 million of net cash from operating activities and ₹4,546.6 million of net cash used in investing activities. Those are standalone, company-level figures—not cash flows for its Power Transmission business alone. The filing gives that segment revenue and a segment result, but no separate segment cash-flow statement.
Which company’s cash flow does the filing show?
“Triveni Power Trans” refers here to the Power Transmission business reported as a segment of Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited (TEIL). The National Stock Exchange of India filing is TEIL’s audited standalone financial results for the year ended 31 March 2025. It presents an indirect cash-flow statement in actual Indian rupees. The figures below are therefore standalone TEIL results for FY2024–25, not a standalone financial statement for the Power Transmission segment. National Stock Exchange of India

That distinction matters: a segment’s revenue and segment result describe business performance, while operating and investing cash flows in this filing are reported for the company. The filing does not allocate those cash-flow totals to Power Transmission.
What do the FY2024–25 financial statements report?

|---|---|---|
| Revenue from operations | ₹66,554 million | Company revenue for the year |
| Profit before tax | ₹3,376.4 million | Accounting profit before tax |
| Net cash from operating activities | ₹1,537 million | Cash generated from operations after income taxes paid |
| Net cash used in investing activities | ₹4,546.6 million | Net investing cash outflow |

The segment figures and company-level financial results are reported in TEIL’s FY2024–25 filing. They should not be treated as directly interchangeable measures. NSE FY2024–25 audited standalone filing

Why was operating cash lower than profit before tax?
Profit before tax is an accounting measure, not the amount of cash collected during the year. In the indirect cash-flow statement, TEIL starts with profit before tax of ₹3,376.4 million and adjusts for non-cash items and changes in working capital. The working-capital movements shown include negative adjustments of ₹1,444.1 million for increased inventories and ₹1,766.3 million for increased current trade receivables. An increase in current trade payables added ₹477.4 million to cash on this bridge. NSE FY2024–25 audited standalone filing
In practical terms, more cash tied up in unsold inventory or unpaid customer invoices is not available as cash from operations during that period. The filing reports ₹2,352.4 million of net cash from operations before income taxes paid. After ₹815.4 million of income taxes paid, net cash from operating activities was ₹1,537 million.

What drove investing cash outflows?
TEIL reported ₹4,546.6 million of net cash used in investing activities. Major listed outflows included ₹2,844 million for purchases of property, plant and equipment, ₹1,295 million in advances and loans to other parties, and ₹511.6 million for acquiring interests in joint ventures. These are company-level investing items; the filing does not establish that all, or any particular share, belongs to Power Transmission. NSE FY2024–25 audited standalone filing

Operating and investing cash flows answer different questions. The former reflects cash generated by business operations after tax; the latter includes spending and other investment-related transactions. A large investing outflow by itself does not show whether operating performance was weak or which segment received the investment.

What changed after FY2024–25?
TEIL’s FY2025–26 audited-results announcement reports consolidated revenue from operations of ₹7,620.85 crore and net profit after tax of ₹268.71 crore. It states that the composite scheme was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal and that the Power Transmission undertaking vested in Triveni Power Transmission Limited (TPTL), with an appointed date of 1 April 2026. The announcement also says the current year’s results include Sir Shadi Lal Enterprises from 21 June 2024, so year-on-year consolidated comparisons are not fully like-for-like. The appointed date is later than the 31 March 2026 year-end covered by those FY2025–26 results. The announcement’s consolidated results should not be recast as separate post-demerger TPTL cash flows. The latest available investor-relations page also lists Q1 FY2027 company-wide highlights—net-of-excise revenue from operations of ₹1,581 crore, EBITDA of ₹63 crore and PAT of ₹4 crore—but these are not Power Transmission-only figures. The cited FY2025–26 summary does not provide detailed audited cash-flow line items, and separate post-demerger TPTL cash flows are not established by these figures. For a line-by-line cash-flow explanation, the substantiated statement here is TEIL’s FY2024–25 standalone filing.

How to compare Triveni Power Transmission cash-flow figures
- Check whether each number is standalone TEIL, consolidated TEIL, or a separate TPTL result.
- Do not compare segment revenue or segment result with company-level cash-flow totals as if they measured the same thing.
- For operating cash, examine working-capital changes—especially receivables and inventory—as well as taxes paid.
- For investing cash, identify the reported uses of funds without assuming the filing assigns them to a particular business segment.
- Account for the 1 April 2026 appointed date when interpreting the transition to TPTL.
