What do the travel classes include?
The cheapest fare is not the only cost to consider on a journey lasting several days. Privacy, sleeping arrangements, meals and access to shared cars all differ by class.
| Class | Accommodation and inclusions | What to factor into your budget |
|---|---|---|
| Economy | Seat, Skyline car access and an electrical outlet. Meals, snacks and beverages are available to purchase. | Allow for food and drinks bought onboard; there is no sleeping accommodation included in this fare. |
| Sleeper Plus | Berth or cabin, meals, non-alcoholic snacks and beverages, lounge access, and washroom and shower access. | Compare the berth and cabin prices for your date, and note that a cabin-for-two price is quoted per person assuming double occupancy. |
| Prestige | Private cabin with its own washroom and shower, meals and beverages, and reserved seating in the dining and Park cars. | The listed cabin-for-two price is per person and assumes double occupancy; the stated fare is all-inclusive. |
Dining and Park car access can vary with season and service conditions. Check VIA’s current route details before choosing a class.

Connectivity and comfort
VIA says, “Wi-Fi is not offered on this train.” Economy passengers have access to an electrical outlet, but plan for offline entertainment and anything else you may need without internet access. For a four-night trip, a sleep mask may be a useful personal comfort item; it is not a VIA requirement or endorsement.
