Trader Joe’s shoppers who bought Gerolsteiner sparkling water should check the bottle’s lower label: the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled 750 ml glass bottles with lot codes 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L. The bottles can crack and cause cuts. Stop using a bottle with either code and return it to the store where you bought it for a full refund; no receipt is required, but you must return the bottle.
Which Gerolsteiner bottles are recalled?
The CPSC recall notice, dated March 13, 2025, covers Gerolsteiner 750 ml sparkling water in glass bottles. The product has a white, blue and red Gerolsteiner label and was sold as a single large bottle or in a 15-bottle case.
- Recalled lot codes: 11/28/2024 L and 11/27/2024 L.
- Where to find the code: The lower part of the bottle label.
- Recall size: About 61,500 bottles, according to the CPSC’s 2025 estimate.
Match the full code, including the final “L.” A bottle’s brand or size alone does not establish that it is part of the recall. See the CPSC recall notice for the agency’s product details and remedy.
Why were the bottles recalled?
The bottles can crack, creating a laceration hazard. The CPSC said no incidents or injuries had been reported when it issued the notice. That report does not mean an affected bottle is safe to use: stop using it if its lot code matches.

Where and when were recalled bottles sold?
According to the CPSC, the bottles were sold at Trader Joe’s stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas from December 2024 through January 2025. The agency listed the price as about $3 per bottle.
A March 14, 2025, Store Brands article gives a different state list and formats the lot codes differently. For identifying affected products and locations, use the CPSC notice as the authoritative source rather than combining the two lists.
