Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO) says it pays dividends in March, June, September, and December. For 2026, the company declared quarterly dividends of $0.24 per share, or $0.96 annualized. It does not currently offer a direct stock purchase plan; shareholders seeking automatic reinvestment should check with their brokerage. Reinvested dividends generally remain reportable as income for federal tax purposes.

When does Tractor Supply pay dividends?

Tractor Supply says its dividend program began on March 1, 2010, and that dividends are paid in March, June, September, and December. Those are the regular payment months, not a permanent schedule of exact future dates. The company’s Investor FAQs also describe a history of annual dividend increases.

For 2026, the company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.24 per share, equivalent to $0.96 per share on an annualized basis. Annualized is a rate calculated by multiplying the quarterly amount by four; it is not a promise that future quarterly payments will remain unchanged.

2026 declared payment Dividend per share Record date Payment date
March $0.24 February 24, 2026 March 10, 2026
June $0.24 May 27, 2026 June 9, 2026

The February 11, 2026 dividend announcement set the March payment and record dates. The May 14, 2026 declaration set the June dates. Both specified that the record date applies to shareholders of record at the close of business on that date.

Record date versus payment date

The record date is the date on which the company identifies shareholders eligible for that declared payment. The payment date is when the cash dividend is scheduled to be paid. For later quarters, check Tractor Supply’s latest dividend announcement and your brokerage account records rather than assuming an exact date from the regular monthly pattern.

Can you reinvest Tractor Supply dividends through the company?

Tractor Supply’s FAQ says, “Tractor Supply Company does not currently have a direct purchase plan.” It directs people interested in buying shares to contact a licensed stockbroker. The FAQ does not establish that the company operates its own dividend reinvestment plan.

If you want dividends automatically invested in additional TSCO shares, ask your brokerage whether it supports dividend reinvestment for the stock and how the feature works in your account. Check the account’s settings and the broker’s terms for any fees, transaction handling, or timing details; availability is broker- and account-specific.

Cash dividends or automatic reinvestment?

  • Take the cash: The dividend remains available for spending or for investing elsewhere.
  • Reinvest: The dividend is used to acquire additional shares, which can increase your share count but does not guarantee a gain or remove the risks of owning the stock.
  • Keep records: Save brokerage statements and tax documents so you can track both dividend income and any shares purchased with it.

How are reinvested dividends treated for federal taxes?

Using a dividend to buy more shares generally does not make the dividend disappear from income reporting. The IRS’s Publication 550 (2025), Investment Income and Expenses says dividends used to purchase stock at fair market value must still be reported as income.

Publication 550 also addresses reinvestment plans that allow shares to be bought for less than fair market value: the fair market value of the additional stock on the dividend payment date is reportable as dividend income. Check your brokerage’s tax documents for the amounts and classifications reported for your account. Your personal tax treatment depends on your circumstances; consult a qualified tax professional for advice specific to you.

This general explanation does not determine the tax classification of a particular TSCO dividend for a specific investor or tax year. Do not assume a particular tax rate or preferential treatment based only on the fact that a dividend was reinvested.
