That brings the company’s announced localization investment to Rs. 5.1 billion. The money is intended for production equipment and related costs; the company has not disclosed a parts list, model list, or project-specific savings target.
What the Rs. 5.1 billion investment covers
In a material-information filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange dated April 24, 2026, IMC said its board had approved the additional Rs. 1 billion. The expenditure is intended to support local manufacturing of parts and components for existing vehicles, including costs for plant and machinery, molds, dies, equipment, and related items. The disclosure does not name the components, Toyota models, suppliers, or planned production volumes. It also does not state a target for the project’s local-content share.
How the investment is phased

The two completion dates apply to different phases. IMC described the earlier Rs. 4.1 billion project as ongoing and gave the additional Rs. 1 billion its own later expected completion date.

Why IMC says it is localizing parts
IMC presents localization as part of its strategy to reduce foreign-exchange outflow, promote Pakistan’s automotive industry, generate employment, and contribute to the national economy. Those are the company’s stated objectives, not quantified results in the filing. The notice does not estimate foreign-exchange savings or jobs, or establish that either has already resulted from this investment.
What the available figures do—and do not—show
Two dated figures offer broader context, but neither measures the outcome of the new Rs. 5.1 billion investment:

- Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production said on July 31, 2024, that IMC had localized up to 64 percent of its operations. This is a government-reported figure from 2024, not a new measurement tied to the 2026 approval. See the ministry’s account.
- IMC’s 2024 annual report said 53 suppliers supplied parts worth PKR 270 million daily for 300 units. This is company-reported supply-chain context; the report does not attribute those figures to the newly approved investment. See IMC’s 2024 annual report.
IMC is a Pakistan joint-venture production and sales company established with House of Habib, according to Toyota Motor Corporation’s 2012 corporate announcement. That history identifies the company but does not establish the current project’s impact. See Toyota’s announcement.

The filing describes investment in manufacturing capacity, not a retail offer or a change to a particular vehicle’s price, features, or availability. It does not identify parts that consumers can buy, nor does it say how or when the investment might affect vehicle production or prices. Without component-level and cost information, the Rs. 5.1 billion figure alone cannot show whether buyers will see lower prices or another direct benefit.
