The commission issued Notification No. 09/2025 on 21 May 2025; applications opened on 27 May and closed on 25 June 2025 at 11:59 PM. The headline figure of 615 was the initial vacancy count. TNPSC later added 418 vacancies, bringing the cumulative total to 1,033 in Addendum 9A/2025.
What the TNPSC CTS 2025 notification announced
TNPSC Notification No. 09/2025 invited online applications for direct recruitment to the Combined Technical Services Examination (Non-Interview Posts). The notification states: “Applications are invited only through online mode for direct recruitment to the posts in Combined Technical Services Examination (Non-Interview Posts).” It also instructs candidates to ensure that they meet all eligibility conditions.
This is a historical 2025 recruitment cycle, not an open application announcement. The notification was issued on 21 May 2025, and its application and correction windows have passed.
How the vacancy count changed
TNPSC initially notified 615 vacancies in Notification 9/2025. Addendum 9A/2025, dated 11 June 2025, added 418 more. The addendum’s cumulative table lists 1,033 vacancies at that update.

TNPSC’s July 2025 press release listed Computer Based Test, objective-type OMR, and descriptive examination modes across the scheduled sessions. The notice does not mean that every post used all three formats; candidates needed to refer to the relevant post and paper details.
What the examination papers covered
The examination included a common Paper I and subject-specific Paper II papers. Paper I covered the Tamil Eligibility Test, General Studies, Aptitude, and Mental Ability. Paper II varied by subject, so preparation material needed to match the candidate’s applied-for post and its notified syllabus rather than relying on a general CTS guide alone.
