The original notice estimated 47 posts, but MRB revised the total to 48 in a 6 May corrigendum and updated the vacancy distribution again on 28 July. This was a dental recruitment, not Assistant Surgeon (General).
What happened to the 47 Assistant Surgeon posts?
MRB Notification No.05/MRB/2025, dated 25 February 2025, invited online applications for temporary direct recruitment to Assistant Surgeon (Dental) in Tamil Nadu Medical Services. Its original estimate was 47 vacancies, with distribution to be announced later. On 6 May 2025, MRB revised the notified total to 48 and issued a category distribution; a 28 July 2025 corrigendum retained 48 and revised the distribution again, including an ex-servicemen category. The 47 figure therefore describes the original estimate, not the later notified total.
The post carried Pay Level 22, with a notified pay scale of Rs.56,100–2,05,700. The official listing and amendments are the right records to consult for the final category-wise distribution and recruitment updates.
Is the application still open?
No. Online applications opened on 25 February 2025 and closed on 17 March 2025, including online fee payment. The recruitment notice described online application as the only mode. Its application instructions required a mobile number, email address, scanned photograph and signature, and supporting information or documents; applications missing the photograph and signature uploads were incomplete. Fees were non-refundable. These are historical application details, not an active opportunity.

These are the notice’s stated limits, not a universal age cap. Other statutory conditions and relaxations may apply; candidates should check the full notification and relevant amendments against their category and circumstances.
