Tinder described it as a limited offer for highly active users, but official public subscription pages reviewed in October 2026 list Plus, Gold and Platinum—not Select. The pages do not establish whether Select is discontinued or still offered privately, and the subscription was never shown to guarantee matches or dates.
What Tinder announced in 2023
Axios reported on September 23, 2023, that Tinder had announced Select at $499 per month, citing Bloomberg’s reporting and attributing the offer details to Tinder. Tinder said the plan was intended for less than 1% of users. Tinder Chief Product Officer Mark Van Ryswyk described the audience as a subset of “highly engaged and active users” seeking more effective and efficient ways to find connections. Axios’s 2023 report is the basis for the price and Select feature details.
The “wealthy people with zero game” wording is a joke in the headline, not Tinder’s stated targeting criterion. The announcement describes a limited premium offer for engaged users; it does not establish that the subscribers were wealthy or unsuccessful at dating.
What Select was reported to include
The 2023 report described two notable features: the ability to message some people without first matching, and the ability to “see and be seen by Tinder’s most sought after profiles.” Those are reported features of the announced offer, not evidence of a particular result. No cited source publishes a Select match-rate improvement, date-success rate or other efficacy figure.

Is Tinder Select available now?
Current public information does not settle that question. Tinder’s Help page, updated October 1, 2026, and its public subscription-tier page list Plus, Gold and Platinum; neither lists Select. That means Select is absent from the public tier pages reviewed, not that Tinder has confirmed it was discontinued. An invitation-only or limited test cannot be ruled out on that basis.
For an offer available to your account, check the subscription screen in the Tinder app. Prices and offers can depend on market and account, and Tinder’s public tier pages do not provide a single current Select price.

These features are described on Tinder’s subscription Help page and subscription-tier page. Tinder’s product page says a Boost can result in up to 10 times more profile views during a set time window; that is a promotional feature claim, not a promise of matches or dates.
Tinder’s older premium-features update discussed Plus, Gold and Platinum alongside individual purchases such as Super Like and Boost, and said Tinder tested offering Passport and See Who Likes You separately. It also described age- and market-based price variation at that time. That historical post should not be read as a current pricing policy.
