Thoma Bravo agreed to acquire a majority interest in cybersecurity company LogRhythm in 2018 and confirmed the investment had closed on July 2 of that year. How much did Thoma Bravo pay?
The May 2018 announcement and July completion release did not disclose financial terms. Neither an exact purchase price nor an ownership percentage is established by those releases. Claims assigning a dollar value or a specific stake to the transaction would go beyond what the parties published.

What did LogRhythm do?
LogRhythm provided enterprise security information and event management (SIEM) software. In its 2018 announcement, the company described its platform as combining SIEM, user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA), network traffic and behavior analytics, and security automation and orchestration. That product description is the company’s characterization at the time of the deal.
The same release reported that LogRhythm served more than 2,500 enterprise customers worldwide and had been positioned as a Leader in Gartner’s SIEM Magic Quadrant for six consecutive years. LogRhythm’s then-chairman, president and CEO Andy Grolnick said, “LogRhythm believes it has found an ideal partner in Thoma Bravo.” Thoma Bravo managing partner Seth Boro said the firm looked to “further accelerate product innovation and drive continued customer success.” Both comments were statements by parties to the transaction; they describe their stated expectations, not demonstrated outcomes.
What happened to LogRhythm afterward?
Thoma Bravo reported that LogRhythm and Exabeam completed a merger on July 17, 2024, and that the combined company retained the Exabeam name.
