During Amazon’s Big Spring Sale in March 2026, the deal covered the Carbon Black Xbox Wireless Controller bundled with a USB-C cable. Amazon said the sale ran through March 31, 2026, and that date has passed. The March 25 deal report listed the controller at $44.99 against a stated $64.99 reference price; it does not establish today’s Amazon price or whether the individual listing remained available through the sale’s final day.
What the $44.99 offer covered
The March 25, 2026 deal report identified the item as the standard Xbox Wireless Controller in Carbon Black, bundled with a USB-C cable—not an Elite Series 2 controller. It reported a $44.99 price, commonly rounded to $45, compared with a stated $64.99 reference price. That is about 31% off the reported reference figure, not proof that every retailer normally sold it for $64.99. Amazon’s announcement said its 2026 Big Spring Sale ran through March 31. The event is over, and no current Amazon listing price is established here. The available deal report also does not establish whether the offer required Prime, whether the $44.99 was before tax or shipping, who sold and fulfilled the item, or whether the controller listing sold out or changed price before March 31. What came in the bundle—and what the cable does
The highlighted configuration included the Carbon Black controller and a USB-C cable. Do not assume that the cable was included with every color or bundle: variants can differ, so the selected listing matters. The controller uses two AA batteries by default. The cable can support a wired connection, but it does not make those AA batteries rechargeable.

Microsoft lists a textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and rear case, a hybrid D-pad, a Share button and a 3.5mm stereo headset jack. The controller connects to Xbox consoles using Xbox Wireless and supports Bluetooth on compatible Windows, Android and iOS devices. For PC, check whether the computer has working Bluetooth before buying if wireless play is important. Xbox Wireless is a separate connection method; a PC may need a compatible Xbox Wireless Adapter to use it. A cable is the direct wired option. Microsoft also supports button mapping through the Xbox Accessories app on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11; its Windows app requires a compatible USB-C cable, sold separately.

Who would have benefited from the deal
- Xbox owners: A practical second pad for local multiplayer or a replacement for an aging Xbox One or Series controller.
- PC players: A familiar Xbox layout and button labeling, provided the desired wired or wireless connection is supported by the computer.
- Mobile and cloud-gaming users: A single controller for a compatible phone, tablet, TV or streaming device, subject to that device’s Bluetooth and game support.
- Buyers who want a standard controller: It provides the core Xbox controls without the premium customization features of an Elite model.
When the standard controller is the wrong choice
- If you need rear paddles, adjustable thumbsticks, trigger stops or interchangeable components, this standard controller does not provide the Elite feature set.
- If you want rechargeable power in the box, do not treat the included USB-C cable as a rechargeable battery. - It is not a native PlayStation or Nintendo Switch controller. A separate adapter may be required for other platforms, and feature support can be limited.
- If you need to buy at exactly $44.99 now, this March promotion is not a current offer.
Checklist for a similar Amazon deal
- Open the retailer listing and confirm its title identifies the Xbox Wireless Controller and, if needed, the USB-C cable bundle.
- Verify the selected color; Amazon may show a different price for another variant.
- Check the price on the product page and again in the cart, since promotions and stock can change.
- Review the seller and fulfillment details, and make sure the condition is New rather than used, renewed or an Amazon Warehouse item.
- Read the delivery estimate and return terms before ordering.
- Confirm the controller has a USB-C port if you plan to use Microsoft’s rechargeable battery accessory, and check separately whether AA batteries are included.
- For PC wireless use, verify Bluetooth compatibility or plan for a compatible adapter; otherwise, use a wired connection.
