There is no verified, comparable list establishing the eight richest gaming YouTubers in 2022. The figures available for prominent creators measure different things: Forbes reported earnings during 2021, while a June 2022 article gave estimates of career gaming earnings. Neither set is a net-worth ranking. Because net worth compares assets with liabilities at a point in time, those earnings figures cannot be used to establish who was richest.
Why a definitive 2022 net-worth ranking is hard to verify
Creators’ finances are generally not disclosed in a standardized way. A published “richest” list may instead rely on estimated earnings or on money associated with one part of a creator’s career. Those are useful clues about scale, but they do not reveal a person’s full assets, debts, taxes, ownership stakes, or spending.
The distinction matters: annual earnings cover a particular period; career gaming earnings refer to money attributed to gaming over a career; net worth is an estimate of assets minus liabilities at a point in time. The available reports do not provide a consistent set of eight net-worth estimates or a common method for comparing them.
Forbes’ reported 2021 earnings
Forbes’ 2022 coverage reported these 2021 annual earnings figures for creators. They are not net-worth estimates, and the amounts should be read as earnings for that year rather than accumulated wealth.

Forbes’ 2021 highest-paid YouTube stars ranks reported earnings, not personal wealth. It also covers YouTube creators generally, so the figures alone do not establish a ranking limited to gaming content.
Career gaming-earnings estimates reported in June 2022
A separate June 2022 article gave estimates for career gaming earnings. These figures have a different time horizon and scope from Forbes’ annual earnings figures.

The June 2022 gaming report attributes these estimates to gaming earnings accumulated over a career. They should not be read as audited totals, annual income, or net worth. The report does not supply a comparable eight-person net-worth list.
Why earnings do not equal net worth
Even a large earnings estimate cannot show how much wealth someone still holds. Earnings may be spent, taxed, invested, or used to repay debt. A creator’s financial picture may also include assets and income unrelated to gaming videos, such as other businesses or investments.

MrBeast’s business interests illustrate the distinction. Fortune’s reporting on MrBeast and business valuation concerns the value of a business, which is not the same as his personal net worth or his earnings from YouTube in a particular year. A company’s valuation cannot simply be added to a creator’s annual earnings and called personal wealth.
