Where does the money come from?
Forbes identifies music sales and streaming, licensing, and revenue connected to Graceland among Presley’s ongoing earning sources. Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) operates Graceland tourism, the nearby shopping mall, Elvis licensing, and what remains of Presley’s publishing rights. Graceland visits and hospitality
Graceland’s visitor experience includes a tour of the mansion, exhibits, a visitor complex, a hotel, and events. Its official site describes the available tours and experiences and Guest House lodging. These offerings help make Graceland more than a single historic-home admission, but the available sources do not give a current audited revenue figure for tourism.

Music, licensing, and publishing
Record sales and streams continue to monetize Presley’s music, while licensing lets businesses use his name, image, or related intellectual property in authorized products and promotions. EPE also operates what Forbes describes as the remaining Presley publishing rights. Who owns Graceland, and who owns Elvis Presley Enterprises?
These are separate interests. Forbes reports that Graceland itself remains fully owned by Presley’s estate, controlled by granddaughter Riley Keough. The family reportedly owns 15% of EPE; Authentic Brands Group (ABG) controls and manages the remainder. What this means for fans buying Elvis memorabilia
Collectibles can be valuable, but claims about ownership and provenance are not self-verifying. Graceland says it maintains more than 1.5 million archival pieces and offers authentication guidance; it also advises buyers to examine provenance. Its official statement is that “At Graceland, the key to everything we do is authenticity.” Treat that as Graceland’s institutional position, not a guarantee that any item offered for sale is genuine. - Ask for a documented ownership history and supporting records, rather than relying only on a seller’s description.
- Check whether the item’s claimed history can be substantiated through credible documentation or an appropriate authentication process.
- Compare the object and its paperwork with the guidance from the relevant authentication source before paying a premium.
What the public numbers do—and do not—show
Forbes’ estimate gives a useful measure of Presley’s continuing commercial reach, but it is not a channel-by-channel estate income statement. The reported $17 million cannot be divided reliably among tourism, music, licensing, and publishing from the public information cited here, and it should not be described as net profit. The ownership distinction matters too: estate ownership of Graceland does not mean the family owns all of EPE.
