How much did the Breaking Bad house sell for?
Albuquerque Business First reported that the house at 3828 Piermont Drive NE sold for $1.3 million on February 25, 2026. The closing followed a February relisting at $400,000 and a reported bidding war. The Albuquerque Journal said the agent received about 20 offers; that is an agent-reported count, not a measure of broader fan or buyer interest.
The sale price was more than three times the relisting ask. It was not the same as the family’s earlier asking price: the Associated Press reported that the family listed the house for just under $4 million in January 2025. An asking price is what a seller hopes to receive, not evidence that buyers will pay it or that the home has been independently appraised at that amount.
Why did the price story change?
The property’s pop-culture recognition made it unlike a routine home listing, but its setting and use remained ordinary residential concerns. The family initially pursued a nearly $4 million asking price on the premise of the home’s notoriety and possible visitor appeal. After more than a year without serious interest, the listing was removed in December, according to the Albuquerque Journal’s 2026 account.

For the February 2026 relisting, agent Alicia Feil took a conventional residential-market approach and set the price at $400,000. That was closer to a neighborhood comparison: The Guardian reported Zillow’s 2025 neighborhood median at $421,000. A neighborhood median is not an appraisal of this particular house, and the eventual $1.3 million closing reflects the reported transaction rather than a general value for nearby homes.
Feil questioned whether a commercial attraction fit the setting: “It’s a residential neighborhood; you can’t just plop a large commercial business into a residential neighborhood,” she told the Albuquerque Journal. The Journal reported that the lower relisting attracted about 20 offers and an intense bidding war. Albuquerque Business First later reported the closing at $1.3 million, with Feil describing the premium over the initial ask as “unprecedented.”

Why was the house hard for the family to keep?
The house was a family home long before it became a television landmark. The parents bought it in 1973, and family members lived there for more than five decades. A location scout approached them in 2006 about filming the pilot; the series aired from 2008 to 2013, and the home’s exterior and backyard became associated with Walter White’s fictional residence.
After the parents died and the adult children moved on, the family decided to sell. Family members described unwanted attention connected to the show’s fame, including people trying to throw pizzas onto the roof or get access to the yard and pool. The family added fencing and security. The Associated Press reported that Joanne Quintana said hundreds of cars passed on some days; The Guardian reported her estimate of an average 300 cars a day. Those are her accounts of traffic, not independently counted totals.

Vince Gilligan, the show’s creator, appealed to fans in 2015: “There is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof,” The Guardian reported. For the family, the property’s fame brought not only potential value but also a loss of privacy.
Who bought the house, and what will happen to it?
The buyer’s identity and plans have not been established in the cited sale coverage. During the contract stage, the Albuquerque Journal reported that Feil could not confirm online personality Adin Ross as the buyer, despite his public claim. The later report of the $1.3 million closing confirms the sale price and date, but does not independently establish who purchased the home or what they intend to do with it.
