Erling Haaland is estimated to be the Premier League’s highest-paid player in 2026–27, with a gross fixed salary of £525,000 a week, or £27.3 million a year. That is an estimate—not an official disclosure by Manchester City or the Premier League. The figures below reflect estimates available for the 2026–27 season and can change as contracts, transfers and salary trackers are updated.
Who is the highest-paid player in the Premier League?
Capology’s 2026–27 estimates put Manchester City forward Erling Haaland first at £525,000 per week (£27.3 million annualized). A September 8, 2026 roundup reports the same figure. Capology says its salary figures are estimates, not official figures; clubs and the league have not published verified individual wage figures for this ranking. Capology’s Premier League salary estimates and the September 2026 roundup should therefore be read as salary-tracker estimates, not confirmed payroll records.
Estimated highest Premier League wages for 2026–27
The table uses estimated gross fixed salary, rather than bonuses or total compensation. Annual figures are the reported annual estimates; where a weekly range is given, the annual amount is also a range or an upper bound. The roundup’s club labels and figures are its 2026–27 snapshot, not official contract disclosures.

Salary trackers can change their estimates, so this is a dated snapshot rather than a permanent ranking.

What “salary” and “wages” mean in these estimates
Gross fixed salary is not take-home pay
The table reports estimated gross fixed salary: a before-tax figure for fixed pay, not the player’s net income after tax or other deductions. The weekly amounts are commonly used to compare wages; multiplying by 52 gives an annualized salary estimate. It does not establish what a player receives in a particular pay period or what reaches their bank account.
Bonuses and other compensation can change total pay
Fixed salary is only one part of a player’s potential compensation. Performance bonuses, signing payments, image-rights arrangements, commercial agreements and benefits may affect total earnings. Salary trackers distinguish fixed salary from estimated bonuses and total compensation, and may interpret guaranteed payments differently. Loan arrangements can also divide salary costs between a parent club and a borrowing club. A ranking of fixed wages is not necessarily a ranking of total compensation.

For comparisons, use the same season and the same measure—weekly or annual gross fixed salary, estimated bonus pay, or total compensation—and check how the source treats loans and contractual extras. Mixing tracker figures that use different definitions can create misleading comparisons.

There is no official league-wide public list of individual player salaries behind these figures. The estimates are assembled by independent salary trackers, and underlying contracts are not fully disclosed. A tracker’s definition of fixed or guaranteed pay, its treatment of bonuses and loan costs, and the date it last updated a player’s entry can all affect the result. Even when two sources show the same amount, that agreement does not make the number an official figure.

Ranks also need a season and date. For example, a Sporting News snapshot dated February 23, 2026 listed Haaland at £525,000 a week, Mohamed Salah at £400,000, and Casemiro and Virgil van Dijk at £350,000 each. That article said it excluded signing bonuses and potential add-on incentives. It is an earlier-season comparison, not a replacement for the 2026–27 estimates above.

How to read the ranking

- Van Dijk and Enzo Fernández are each estimated at £350,000 a week, substantially below Haaland’s figure.
- Some entries are ranges rather than precise single amounts, so avoid treating small differences within the top group as certain.
- All amounts are gross salary estimates, not official disclosures or confirmed take-home pay.
