What does “casual fine dining” mean here?
Episcope CEO and co-founder David Morton described the fine-dining element as using “the best ingredients, most simply prepared, with a keen interest in source.” He characterized the casual side as a welcoming approach to style, menu and service, without fine dining’s stuffiness.

Morton also said the concept draws on principles he associates with his family’s history in the steakhouse business: “A really disciplined, passionate desire to source incredible product,” and the hope of delivering “an outstanding experience from food, beverage, and service at a great price.” The family has not been involved in Morton’s The Steakhouse since its sale in the late 1980s; The Moseley is not presented as a Morton’s brand.
What is on the menu?
Boston.com’s October 2026 report described a broad menu with seafood, comfort-food staples and steakhouse-style dishes. Examples included:
Rank #2
- Crab cake and tuna tartare
- Lobster roll and dry-aged sirloin burger
- Pan-roasted chicken and tuna Hamachi poke bowl
- 10-ounce filet mignon
- Miso black cod, which Morton singled out

The Moseley occupies 10,000 square feet on the ninth floor of South Station Tower, a 51-story mixed-use building, according to Boston.com. The restaurant’s design by Boston-based Perkins&Will uses curved white-oak ceilings, wood panels and bronze details that evoke historic train cars.
Rank #3
Boston.com reported that the restaurant takes its name from Alex Moseley, a Bostonian whose late-19th-century leather and hide business on nearby South Street helped shape the Leather District. Morton said the restaurant should benefit the surrounding neighborhood as well as the tower, calling the building “an important symbol of a city.”
