SalarySport estimated that a Queens Park Rangers player in its 2023/24 wage sample earned about £10,300 a week. That figure is specifically the average for 22 QPR players aged 22 or over for whom SalarySport listed a wage; it is not an official average for the whole squad.
What was the estimated weekly wage?
SalarySport’s QPR 2023/24 salary page gives an average of £10,291 per week for the 22 players aged 22 or over in its database with a wage listed. The site describes the wider squad as 66 players, so the £10,291 figure should be read as a third-party estimate for that narrower sample—not as what every QPR player earned.
Why isn’t this an official all-squad average?
QPR Holdings Limited’s accounts for the year ended 31 May 2024 do not disclose individual player wages or a player-only average in the cited employee note. They report an average of 115 people in the combined “Players, managers and coaches” category. That is a headcount, not a wage statistic, and the category includes managers and coaches as well as players.
The accounts report £23.783 million in aggregate payroll costs across the staff categories listed: £20.895 million in wages and salaries, £2.614 million in social security costs, and £274,000 in other pension costs. Those totals include employer costs and multiple staff groups, so they cannot establish the average playing wage.

How should the other reported wage figures be read?
| Figure | What it represents |
|---|---|
| £10,291 per week | SalarySport’s estimated average for 22 players aged 22 or over for whom it holds a wage in its 2023/24 QPR dataset. |
| £256,720 per week; £13,349,440 per year | SalarySport’s reported wage bill for a 66-player squad in its 2023/24 archive; not an official player-only payroll figure. |
| £23.783 million in aggregate payroll costs | QPR Holdings Limited accounts for the year ended 31 May 2024; combines wages and salaries, social security, and pension costs across listed staff categories. |
Dividing SalarySport’s reported weekly bill by its 66-player squad count produces roughly £3,890 per squad member. That is only an arithmetic calculation from the site’s figures: it is not a verified average wage, and the page does not establish that the squad count represents players who appeared during the season.

The best-supported answer is approximately £10,300 a week, qualified as SalarySport’s estimate for its 22-player sample aged 22 or older. The exact average wage for every player in QPR’s 2023/24 squad is not established by these figures or by the cited accounts.
