George Clooney’s reported garage spans a family 1959 Corvette, a Porsche Carrera, a Lexus and past electric-car experiments—but it is not a current inventory.

George Clooney’s documented cars tell a more interesting story than a long list of luxury vehicles: a family 1959 Corvette, a Porsche Carrera and a Lexus appeared in a 2013 garage profile, while his past electric-car experiments included a Tesla Roadster that sold at auction in 2012. These are dated reports, not a verified inventory of what he owns today.

Which cars have been reported in George Clooney’s garage?

Esquire described three cars in its 2013 profile: a gray Lexus, a black Porsche Carrera and a red 1959 Chevrolet Corvette. That is a snapshot from that year, not proof that Clooney still owns any of the three or a complete list of his vehicles. Esquire’s 2013 profile

Car What the dated account establishes
1959 Chevrolet Corvette Red convertible described in Esquire’s 2013 profile as original to the family; Clooney’s father, Nick, bought it new.
Porsche Carrera Black Carrera listed in Esquire’s 2013 garage snapshot; the profile does not establish a more specific model year or current ownership.
Lexus Gray Lexus listed in the same 2013 snapshot; Clooney separately reported owning a Lexus hybrid in a 2011 interview.

Why the 1959 Corvette is the standout

The Corvette’s significance is rooted in family history. Esquire reported that Nick Clooney bought it new in 1959 while working as a radio broadcaster in Lexington, Kentucky, and described it as original to the family.

In a 2020 feature, British GQ quoted Nick recalling, “George always coveted my 1959 Corvette, which I bought to court my wife.” Nick said he was reluctant to let his son drive it, then later had the car refurbished and sent it to California as a Christmas gift. That is Nick’s recollection as reported by GQ, rather than a current ownership record. British GQ’s 2020 feature

Clooney’s electric-car chapter was real, but historical

In a 2011 interview with German publication Motorradonline, Clooney said he had a Tesla in Los Angeles, had previously had a Tango, and also owned a Lexus hybrid. Those comments establish what he reported at the time; they do not show what he owns now. Motorradonline’s 2011 interview

The Tesla was a 2008 Roadster, Signature limited-edition model, identified in Gooding & Company’s auction record as the eighth production Tesla and owned by Clooney since new. It sold at Pebble Beach Auctions in 2012 for $99,000. Gooding said the proceeds would benefit the Satellite Sentinel Project. Gooding & Company’s auction record

A Los Angeles Times preview explained that the project used satellite monitoring to document violence and tensions near the Sudan–South Sudan border. It provides context for the planned charitable sale; Gooding’s record documents the eventual result. Los Angeles Times auction preview

What this collection does—and does not—show

The best-supported picture is of a few distinctive vehicles across different chapters: a Corvette tied to his family, a Porsche Carrera and Lexus in a 2013 profile, and electric cars he discussed in 2011. The Roadster is a former car, not a current entry. The available accounts do not establish a complete present-day collection, an overall value, or a definitive current ownership status for the Carrera, Lexus or Corvette.
