The 2026 Labor Day sales have ended. Home Depot and Lowe’s listed event dates of August 27 through September 9, and Home Depot’s page now says to check back next year. The event’s confirmed offers included discounts on a grill, solar path lights, and a RYOBI blower kit; Amazon, Target, and Walmart were covered in an early preview, but that preview did not confirm specific realized deals. Use this as a record of the 2026 event, not a list of prices still available.
When did the 2026 Labor Day sales run?
Labor Day is observed on the first Monday in September. In 2026, the holiday fell on September 7, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Retail sale windows did not all end on the holiday: Home Depot and Lowe’s both published August 27–September 9 dates for their 2026 events. A September 4 roundup said many promotions would last through September 7, while some ended earlier, so the dates depended on the retailer and offer.
These dates are historical. Home Depot’s current Labor Day page says, “Check Back Next Year for Labor Day Savings.” A later shopping update also reports that Amazon’s Labor Day sale has ended; any remaining end-of-summer promotions should be verified separately rather than treated as Labor Day deals.
What could shoppers find at Home Depot?
Home Depot’s official announcement described a nationwide event from August 27 through September 9, 2026, with offers across grills and outdoor living, lawn and garden, power tools, home security and smart lighting, weatherization, and home services. The retailer named these specific product offers:

| Hampton Bay 20–40 Lumen LED Solar Path Lights, each | $7.97 | $9.97 |
| RYOBI 40V HP Brushless Blower Kit | $279 | $349 |
These figures were Home Depot’s promotional prices for its 2026 event, not current prices or independent estimates of typical savings. The announcement identifies the grill by model name, but does not establish that Amazon sold it or that it is currently available there. Check a retailer’s live listing for the exact product, current price, and stock before buying.
What was on sale at Lowe’s for Labor Day?
Lowe’s listed appliances such as refrigerators and washer/dryer sets, grills and outdoor cooking, power tools, paint, smart home products, lawn and garden, and pool chemicals. Its published sale dates were August 27–September 9, 2026. Lowe’s said most promotions were available online and in stores, while warning that prices and inventory could vary by location. Those categories and dates describe the past event; they do not confirm that an individual offer remains live.

Were Amazon, Target, and Walmart Labor Day deals confirmed?
A USA TODAY article published August 24 was an early-sale preview, not a retrospective deal list. It said Amazon sales typically run from the Friday before Labor Day through the holiday and forecast discounts across devices, home and kitchen, apparel, and back-to-school goods. Its discussion of Target and Walmart likewise described anticipated categories and possible discounts. That reporting does not establish which specific offers actually ran, their final prices, or whether any remain available.
For a current purchase, treat any post-holiday listing as a separate promotion unless the retailer confirms otherwise. Compare the exact model and final price, check the stated end date and local stock, and confirm delivery, installation, or haul-away terms for bulky items where applicable. A forecast or roundup is not a substitute for a live retailer listing.

How to judge a Labor Day deal before buying
- Match the exact product. Confirm model number, size, included accessories, and whether a kit or bundle is involved.
- Compare the final price. A retailer’s “was” price is a promotional reference, not independent proof of the product’s usual market price.
- Check timing and availability. Verify the offer’s end date and your local inventory; dates and stock can differ between retailers and locations.
- Include fulfillment costs. For appliances and other bulky goods, check delivery, installation, and removal charges and terms rather than comparing item prices alone.
- Separate confirmed offers from forecasts. Prefer a current retailer page for price and terms; an editorial preview may describe expected categories without confirming an actual deal.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
