The bigger issue is longevity: Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro support is expected to run only through approximately October 2027, while refurbished Pixel 8a stock started at $339 with a substantially longer support runway.

Google says its certified refurbished phones receive a multipoint quality test, authentic Pixel parts, applicable current software and the same one-year warranty provided with a new device. That does not mean the battery has the same remaining lifespan as a new phone, so the warranty and return terms still matter.
Buy the $329 Pixel 7 if you want the lowest credible outright price, are comfortable with 128GB and accept roughly one year of guaranteed support after purchase. Skip it if you expect to keep the phone for three or four more years or if a refurbished Pixel 8a costs only slightly more.

The 256GB model’s $50 premium is reasonable if you intend to use the phone through the end of its supported life. The 512GB model is harder to recommend because its price approaches newer phones with longer software support.
A Best Buy listing showed an unlocked, refurbished or open-market-style Pixel 7 Pro 128GB at $479.99—less than Google’s $499 phone-only price. However, the listing category included varying conditions and marketplace-style inventory. Check the exact seller, battery disclosure, warranty and return policy on the specific Best Buy product page before treating $479.99 as a bargain.

See Google’s official Pixel hardware specifications for model details. The Pro is worthwhile when its telephoto camera, larger high-refresh-rate display, extra RAM or larger battery matters. It is not automatically better value: both models use the Tensor G2 generation and have a similar remaining update window, while the Pro is heavier and more expensive.

Are Pixel 7 deals actually good in 2026?
The Pixel 7 is still capable for everyday tasks, photography, streaming and normal Android use. Its clean software and camera system remain attractive. But its low price must compensate for its age.
Google’s support policy gives Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro five years of operating-system and security updates from their US availability in October 2022. That implies support through approximately October 2027—not seven years. Google’s support-policy page gives the policy, while the availability timing is documented by Google separately.

Those starting prices came from Google’s refurbished-device page and can change. A Pixel 7 at $329 is therefore a deal mainly because of its low upfront cost and, when available, its bundle—not because it has the best long-term value. A refurbished Pixel 8a at $339 is usually the smarter purchase for anyone prioritizing years of secure use.

Do not subtract the watch’s suggested retail value from the phone price as though it were cash. Its practical value depends on whether you want a Wi‐Fi smartwatch, already use Android and Google’s wearable ecosystem, or can resell it. It is less useful to an iPhone owner or someone committed to another smartwatch platform. The Wi‐Fi version is also not the same as an LTE model.

“Refurbished” is not a uniform quality grade. Google-certified stock is different from retailer-refurbished inventory, a used marketplace phone, an open-box return or new old stock.

Confirm whether Google, the retailer or an individual marketplace seller is responsible for the device.
- Read the battery policy. For a phone released in 2022, an undisclosed battery condition is a meaningful risk. Do not call a cheap listing a bargain without this information.
- Confirm the warranty and return window. Make sure you have enough time to test the phone and understand who handles defects.
- Check the IMEI. Verify that it matches the listing and packaging and is not reported lost, stolen or tied to an unpaid balance.
- Confirm it is unlocked. “Unlocked” does not guarantee perfect operation on every network. Check the US model, supported LTE and 5G bands, eSIM support and any carrier-specific features.
- Inspect the device immediately. Look for screen burn-in, dead pixels, major scratches, a loose USB-C port, swelling, excessive heat and camera-lens damage.
- Test core functions. Check cameras and autofocus, speakers, microphones, fingerprint enrollment, face unlock, wireless charging on the Pro, mobile data, Wi‐Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
- Finish setup correctly. Ensure the previous owner’s accounts are removed, factory-reset protection is disabled and the phone accepts an update after setup.
Google’s carrier guidance explains why compatibility depends on the phone model, carrier, bands and location. Ask the carrier to run an IMEI check before the return period closes.
Unlocked, carrier and trade-in deals
An unlocked, outright price is easier to compare than a carrier offer built from monthly bill credits. A carrier promotion may require a new line, an eligible plan, a trade-in, device payoff, activation fees and a commitment to keep the line open for the entire credit period. Canceling early can forfeit remaining credits.
No current August 2026 carrier promotion for Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro was verified in the available pricing. Do not rely on older deal articles or “up to” savings without checking the exact plan, trade-in value, bill-credit schedule, taxes and fees.
