The 2025 Black Friday speaker deals are no longer a live shopping opportunity. The original roundup was updated November 30, 2025, and described promotions running through the end of that month. As of August 18, 2026, those discounts should be treated as historical prices—not current offers—unless a retailer independently confirms the same price and stock.
The roundup’s biggest advertised saving was 50% on the Marshall Emberton II, listed at $90 instead of $180. It also covered budget Bluetooth speakers, Amazon Echo devices, portable JBL and Bose models, and soundbars from Roku, Amazon, Sony, Sonos, and JBL. See the original Engadget roundup.
What happened to the 2025 speaker deals?
These were genuine Black Friday and Cyber Monday-era promotions, but seasonal pricing is temporary and retailer-specific. An old deal page can remain indexed after a sale ends, while the product itself may still be sold at its regular price, replaced by a newer generation, discontinued, or out of stock.
Do not assume that a crossed-out price, an old affiliate link, or a product still appearing on a retailer’s website means the 2025 discount remains available. One official JBL listing found during research showed a sale end date of June 27, 2026—already past by August 18, 2026. Current prices and stock can also vary by color, seller, membership status, location, and page.

Best budget choices from the historical list
For the cheapest genuinely portable option, the Soundcore Select 4 Go and JBL Go 4 were the clearest fits. The Go 4 was later displayed on JBL’s official shop at $39.95 versus $49.95, but that is a separate observed listing, not proof that the Black Friday price remained active. Check JBL’s current catalog.
The Echo Pop and Echo Dot were better choices for shoppers prioritizing Alexa, timers, routines, and smart-home control. They are not equivalent to battery-powered travel speakers, and privacy-sensitive buyers should remember that smart speakers use microphones and connected cloud services.

- Outdoor-Proof Speaker: Portable design with IPX7 waterproof protection to safeguard against splashes, waves, and water vapor. Get incredible sounds at home, on camping trips, or for outdoor adventures.
- 24H Non-Stop Music: With Anker's world-renowned power management technology and a 5,200mAh Li-ion battery, the soundcore 2 speaker delivers a full day of great sound.
- Powerful Sound: The speaker features 12W power with enhanced bass from dual neodymium drivers. An advanced digital signal processor ensures pounding bass and zero distortion at any volume.
- Intense Bass: Our exclusive BassUp technology and a patented spiral bass port boost low-end frequencies to make the beats hit even harder. The soundcore 2 speaker delivers vibrant audio for home theater nights, beach parties, and sitting around a campfire.
- Grab, Go, Listen: A classic design refined with simple controls and effortless portability. Easy to use and take anywhere, and supports wireless stereo pairing.
The Echo Spot made more sense beside a bed because of its display and alarm-clock design. JBL Go models were more appropriate for compact outdoor use, but older Go 3 stock may be discounted precisely because the Go 4 or a newer generation exists.

What $50 to $100 bought
This range mixed very different products. The WONDERBOOM 4, JBL Flip 5, Bose SoundLink Micro, and Beats Pill were portable Bluetooth speakers. The Roku Streambar SE and Amazon Fire TV Soundbar were fixed TV products. A soundbar may improve dialogue substantially, but it cannot replace a battery-powered speaker for a beach, park, or backyard.
The Marshall Emberton II was the headline deal at $90, or 50% off the stated $180 reference price. Marshall’s U.S. page later showed the Emberton II at $159.99 and selected Emberton III variants at $129.99 on promotion versus $179.99. Those observations illustrate product turnover and should not be confused with the old Black Friday offer. View Marshall’s current speaker lineup.

What $100 to $200 bought
The JBL Flip and Charge lines were aimed at portable listening. A Charge model generally justified its higher price with a larger battery and power-bank function, while a Flip model was easier to carry. JBL’s official pages showed conflicting later prices for the Flip 7 and Charge 6, so the product page—not a cached search result—should be treated as authoritative.
The Bose SoundLink Flex was a compact outdoor option. Bose identifies the first-generation model as IP67-rated and lists up to 12 hours of battery life; the company now also has a second-generation Flex. “Up to” battery figures depend on volume, content, and test conditions. See the first-generation Flex specifications and the second-generation product page.

The Sonos Era 100 was a home Wi-Fi smart speaker, not a battery-powered travel speaker. The Marshall Acton III was mains-powered and designed for indoor listening. The Bose TV Speaker was a dialogue-focused soundbar. Choosing among them based only on price would miss the central differences in placement, power, connectivity, and intended use.

Premium portable speakers and soundbars
Premium portable models such as the Bose SoundLink Max, JBL Xtreme 4, Sonos Move 2, and higher-end Ultimate Ears speakers can deliver more volume, deeper bass, and better coverage than pocket-sized models. The trade-off is greater weight, size, charging time, and cost. The Bose SoundLink Max page listed $399 and up to 20 hours of battery life; the SoundLink Plus page listed $269 and up to 20 hours. Check Bose’s portable-speaker lineup.
JBL’s Xtreme 4 listing showed up to 24 hours of playtime, with up to six additional hours using Playtime Boost, plus waterproof and dustproof construction, Auracast multi-speaker connection, and a replaceable battery. However, the official page showed the product as sold out during the research period, so it should not be presented as an immediately available deal. Check its current stock status.
Premium soundbars are a different purchase entirely. The Sony Bravia Theater Bar 8, Sonos Arc Ultra, and JBL Bar 1300XMK2 are intended for television and home theater. Before buying, check HDMI eARC, Dolby support, included or optional subwoofers, surround-speaker expansion, room size, and whether the necessary cables are included. A high-priced soundbar is poor value for someone who only wants portable music.

- Powerful JBL Pro Sound with AI Sound Boost: How does the already great JBL Charge sound profile get even better? It helps that we have some of the best engineers in the game retooling our kit to deliver our most realistic sound reproduction yet. Surprisingly rich, powerful bass and crisp higher frequencies give the Charge 6 a whole new reason to humble brag. We also added our new proprietary tech, AI Sound Boost, which analyzes your music in realtime to deliver maximum acoustic performance with less distortion. It's like our own little audio genie in every Charge 6. All-in-all, the Charge 6 comes out swinging, with bigger booms and baps, cleaner belts and claps, and everything in between.
- Up to 28 hours of playtime + Fast charge: Keep the mood alive for 24 hours on a single charge - and when we really need to squeeze some extra juice out of our jubilee, or another dance with our darling, we can get an extra 4 hours with JBL Playtime Boost. No need for the low battery blues when you can give your Charge 6 a quick boost! 10 minutes on the charger gets you up to 150 minutes of playtime.
- Multi-speaker connection by Auracast: Wouldn't it be great to share the vibes with our tribe? Now we can. With Auracast, we can effortlessly stereo pair two Charge 6 speakers for a wider sound stage & connect multiple Auracast-enabled JBL speakers to cover more ground with the same playlist.
- Waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof: Have you ever dropped your speaker, had it roll down a dusty hill and land in a lake? No? Well, believe it or not, it happens. So, we built the JBL Charge 6 to be as life-proof as they come. On top of our legendary water-proof and dust-proof design (an industry-leading IP68*, BTW), we've also made sure that if you drop it from 1-meter onto your concrete floor, it'll keep kicking. But please, don't go throwing your speaker around just to flex on your friends. Throw parties instead. *Based on lab test conditions for submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.
- Sturdy handle strap: Now we can carry our sound our way with a handy removable handle strap - for those of us who love to make it from the car to the house in one trip no matter the cost.
How to evaluate a speaker deal now
1. Match the product to the job
- Travel or outdoor use: Choose a battery-powered Bluetooth speaker with a stated IP rating, manageable weight, and USB-C charging.
- Smart-home control: Choose a Wi-Fi smart speaker only if you accept microphones, an app, an account, and cloud-dependent features.
- TV dialogue: Choose a soundbar based on TV connectivity and speech clarity, not portable battery life.
- Large gatherings: Consider output, bass, battery capacity, carrying features, and whether speakers can be paired.
2. Read the IP rating correctly
Look for a specific IP rating rather than relying on “waterproof” language. IP67, for example, indicates dust protection and temporary immersion under stated conditions. It does not mean a speaker can be used with wet ports, treated carelessly in saltwater, or submerged indefinitely. Follow the manufacturer’s drying and charging instructions.
3. Treat battery claims as maximums
Battery figures are normally measured at specified volume and test conditions. High volume, bass-heavy music, outdoor temperatures, and wireless features can reduce runtime. Also check whether the battery is replaceable and whether the speaker can charge a phone.
4. Verify smart and pairing features
Check the exact model and generation before assuming voice control, speakerphone support, stereo pairing, or multiroom compatibility. JBL says the Go 4 and Xtreme 4 do not have microphones, so they do not provide speakerphone or voice-assistant functionality. See JBL’s microphone and voice-assistant guidance.
5. Verify the deal itself
Before paying, record the retailer, seller, variant, price, shipping cost, membership requirement, stock status, return policy, and expiration date. Marketplace sellers may provide different warranties and returns. A retailer’s reference price is not automatically an all-time-low price, so avoid “lowest ever” claims without reliable price history.

The 2025 deals were real historical promotions, led by the Marshall Emberton II at a stated 50% discount. They should not be republished as live offers in 2026. Some models remain relevant, while others have newer successors, volatile pricing, or uncertain stock. For a current purchase, open the manufacturer or retailer product page, confirm the exact model and price, and choose based on portability, connectivity, durability, and intended use—not on an expired Black Friday reference price.
Sources and date note
Historical prices and the original November 30, 2025 update date come from Engadget’s 2025 roundup. Manufacturer specifications and later pricing signals were checked against official Bose, JBL, and Marshall pages. Official-page pricing and availability are volatile and should be rechecked before publication or purchase.
