The companies did not file a lawsuit as plaintiffs: they submitted an amicus brief in support of the appellees in State of Washington v. Donald J. Trump, Ninth Circuit No. 17-35105. The list below follows Appendix A of the filing, including its duplicate listing of Turn Inc.
What the companies filed—and what they argued
The document, titled Brief of Technology Companies and Other Businesses as Amici Curiae in Support of Appellees, was filed February 5, 2017. Its amici asked the Ninth Circuit to accept their brief in support of the appellees’ opposition to the government’s emergency motion for a stay pending appeal. BGR published its contemporaneous list article on February 6, 2017.
The brief said the January 27, 2017 executive order, “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States,” affected the amici’s operations. Its arguments were that immigration supports innovation and economic growth, that the order harmed U.S. companies’ competitiveness, and that the order was unlawful. The amici argued that it discriminated on the basis of nationality and represented an arbitrary exercise of discretion; these were the brief’s claims, not findings by the court.
The brief said: “The Order makes it more difficult and expensive for U.S. companies to recruit, hire, and retain some of the world’s best employees.” It also argued that the order made recruiting and retention less predictable, disrupted business operations, and threatened companies’ ability to attract talent, business, and investment. The filing did not quantify those claimed effects, so the list should not be read as a measure of the ban’s economic impact.

What the list does—and does not—show
The filing records which organizations joined this particular 2017 brief and the arguments they presented to the appeals court. It does not establish that every listed organization made every argument independently, quantify effects on the companies, or document their later positions. It is a historical court filing, not evidence of current corporate views or current immigration policy.
